Now that Max finished the new EW raid the difference between these "blind" runs and the actual livestreamed no guides available raids was astonishing. The other members of his team troubleshooted more mechanics than Max who previously had a plan ready after 1 pull and now he was sitting there silently as others made the tactics. In the end he didnt even end up raid leading and instead his melee player was calling out mechanics for him. Also he said it was his last tier that he streams on FF and he blamed the FF community for being weird when in reality every critique that Max got came from his own viewerbase and ex wow players. 99,9% of the FF community doesnt even know who he is

Yeah it's also weird that if anything he can disprove all this cheating allegation by doing the EW raid "blind" and show his raid leading skill. Instead he took a backseat and let others lead and stopped being able to "look ahead". Also its the classic playing the "victim" that he's doing. "FFcommunity said i cheated, now im no longer blind progging because anything i do is considered cheating" is just another attempt to hide what he did. He knows that if he had to actually do these blind, it will expose him even more. Well played max..

He tried to rephrase Clees's argument into saying that his whole team was "Acting", when in reality Clees was just pointing out that Max clearly was looking ahead, and then telling his team of people what to do, presenting it as his original strategy that he had just come up with. Every single world prog player I have spoken to, who watched his blind prog, all noticed and agreed that he was, at the very least, looking ahead. They get to tsunami 1, die in chaotic fashion with little to no information visually, but everyone screenshotted their debuffs for Max. You would think the first thing Max would do is read the debuffs BEFORE giving his solution to the mechanic, right? Wrong. Max Magically figures out and gives a common PUG solution to tsunami 1 BEFORE reading a single debuff. He goes back and reads them, but only after already forming a strat for the mechanic that just happens to be correct. We can excuse a few lucky guesses, it happens, but when its fight after fight, raid tier after raid tier.... Its just unbelievable at times. Even sfia couldn't bite his tongue on how insane it is that they are "coming up with bilibili lions" as their lion strat. I understand FF14 streamers are incentivized not to call him out on blatantly cheating (at least in some parts its pretty hard to defend him...) for stream content, and to avoid drama/hate since Max and Limit are kind of a big deal in WoW, but some of this is just ridiculous. @@geetargato Well, I guess that's more of a semantic issue than anything, because there is no rule against reading/watching strategies. Cheating is a banable offense in FFXIV, he's just lying. If he and, say Echo made a bet who could do it first while making a gentlemen's agreement that it had to be blind, then he'd be cheating. Otherwise, he's not. But even being dishonest is bad and as the OP said, shows a crazy lack of integrity especially when he himself set the parameters for his raiding. I was going to compare him to a golfer who is just playing a round on their own who doesn't count 2 strokes when they go out of bounds, but even golf has specific rules that you can't do that, so even that's not applicable. But to follow that analogy, he's the guy who doesn't count any penalty strokes but still brags about the score he shot in the clubhouse bar after the round. ;)

Ultimately, I didn't quit watching Max because I was convinced he was a liar. I quit watching him because of his attitude. Time and time again he'd attack, mock, and ridicule his viewers--often unprovoked. I'd never seen a man with an ego as fragile as his. It was just hard to watch. I met some other twitch streamers through him that are a real delight, though. I love Ninja!Max's energy and passion for the game; he's legitimately very good at it, too. Naguura is chill and fun to watch. And Lumidelle is a total sweetheart when I feel like tuning into something a little smaller scale. His suspicion at Ninjamax and THD for recognising a mechanic is pretty telling too. If you're doing something like cheating like this, it's hard to imagine you're the only one, so seeing Ninjamax know how a mechanic he'd never 'seen' before would work is pretty hard for him to imagine. Thing is, NinjaMax spent his spare time doing every damn dungeon and extreme they weren't gonna prog in this game, he's seen it all in these other fights. Mechanics get easier once you've seen about 50 examples of how FFXIV might use them.

Two of these tiers have been there since forever. Did he just think the raiders were that stupid? Yeah as much as I enjoy some of the people in Max's group there's no shot Max himself was actually blind on this stuff, it's pretty clear having done blind prog in this game before. It's funny because multiple other world prog minds I've spoken to feel the same way, but Max tends to deflect by saying anyone who thinks it's not blind prog must have no experience doing blind prog - when it's quite the opposite, the biggest skeptics I've met are all people who have experience doing blind prog. Above all, I feel the most bad for the other 7 people he was raiding with. The most rewarding part of blind prog is being the guy who solves a mechanic, especially one that the rest of your group is stumped about, or getting people on the trail towards solving a mechanic that you're all stumped on. In his position when he knows the solution ahead of time and just magically comes up with the correct solution within 30 seconds of seeing the mechanic for the first time, it robs the rest of his raid of that opportunity. Sad. You see how much he uses "We" in the last minute of the vid, but that's the thing, I haven't met anyone who thinks the entire group is lying, they believe just Max is the one that's going in without being blind. It's not a "We" it's you, Max, and your insecurity only shows harder when you permaban people like Clees from your chat and block them on Twitter the moment they show any sort of skepticism towards whether or not you're actually blind. These aren't even people like your usual stream chat trolls, they're just normal dudes who think you're lying but they don't give enough a shit about it to try and like, harass you, and yet you get upset and block them. All that said, I still think the people who are getting way too mad at him need to chill out. It ain't that serious to be wishing death or going out of your way to harass the guy

To those saying "who cares" or "why are you being so cringe over this", what seems inconsequential to someone looking in from the outside might not be the same to others in the scene who do strict blind content like this. The reason why people care so much about this is because it exists as an unspoken rule in Savage progging, especially with a static, and especially if you're raiding as a part of content.: _If you say you are blind, you _*_are_*_ blind._ And you will not make any attempts to try to research the mechanics. These accusations have been around for a while, and at first I wanted to believe this narrative of 'echo fanboys' or whatever he's claiming just trying to stir up drama, I even defended him multiple times in chat because it just seems so stupid to cheat in his position. But his movement in the e5s clip for example paired with the coms are kind of inexcusable. I would like to give him the chance to tell his side of the story, but it seems he's keeping his mouth shut, which is probably for the best. One of these rare cases where I'm sad I was wrong, and I'm sorry for his 7 other mates, really a shame. I still enjoyed the streams though, people like Ninja Max, THD or Naguura are entertaining & definitely don't deserve hate. It felt like he was a bit too cocky from the get go, but shrugged it off to his (undeniable) success in wow - turns out he just has a brittle ego. Echo is a great alternative though, if you want genuine blind progression & gamers that just wanna game, no one thats peacocking their 'problem solving'. Never paid close enough attention to the raiding scene. As someone who has done both, and even far more dedicated prog in WoW than 14, I have watched some of Echo doing these progs in 14 at least, and it's been neat seeing them enjoy the challenging and brutal experience of these encounters. It's a shame that Max here embodies the opposite of that, the actual WoW Andy with a huge chip on his shoulder who needs to show how "easy" the 14 encounters are by instantly solving them via magical clairvoyance. And then making an excuse to NOT do the actual blind tier when it's new.
@peasantofpersia2 жыл бұрын
The true evidence of max cheating was the fact that during actual progs at the start of new tiers, max couldn't come up with any strats, and Echo would clear bosses much faster than limit.
@rxd_titan28603 жыл бұрын
The problem with Max is ego. Limit pulled ahead in WoW due to cracks that formed in Method (due to the josh/other drama in general) which ultimately lead to Method falling apart - this shot Limit to the top in everyone's eyes because they beat an underperforming Method. Sadly, when things like this happen it generates ego, an ego which needs to stay relevant so it will do every single thing possible to show that its still the "best" - in Max's case, pretending he's doing it blind so he can maintain the "I'm a god tier raider" status. Had he not done this, people would have genuinely had more respect for him if he didn't watch guides for FFXIV content. Limit fans are going to hate this take but unfortunately that's just how it was/is.

Limit pulled ahead because they got to a high enough level to get sponsored as a us guild when enabled them to treat it as a job previously no us guild had been able to do that but with streaming getting big in the race it became viable. This then let them replace players who were only in the top 200 in the US with top 10 players like Shak. Both Limit and Echo would destroy any previous guild even Paragon because they are able to pull players who previously would be focusing on tournament stuff which is where the only money in wow was.

Max won his first WFR cause he spent TONS of cash on addons and splits for his guild and he was the only guild to do 21st man raid lead. He only won Nathria due to Josh breaking up Method before Shadowlands and Echo having to reform due to the controversy. Also Limits 16hr headstart threw Echo for a spin in Nathria causing them to skip splits and go back into mythic early instead of gearing. If Echo had ran full splits they would have probably killed Denathrius within the 16hrs Limit did putting the run into disputed territory. Now Echo has fully reformed and people are seeing how completely fucking useless Max is compared to his co caller. Max is just a money battery and conman nothing else.
@Xbob422 жыл бұрын
@@iratham2567 To be clear, I don't think clearing the run within 16 hours puts it into "disputed" territory. It is race to world first, not race to world first if we subtract head starts that can sometimes provide an advantage and sometimes provide nothing. Like, if a Chinese team beats a boss shortly after Echo, is that kill then "disputed"? They get their patches/resets even later. To me, the only way it would be disputed is if the RWF was over within a 1-3 days or so. When it comes to this week 3, nearly week 4 shit that tiny "advantage" begins to fade away. There's also the simple fact that if it's being streamed, that means the other teams, with nothing else to do, can just see what your strat is and skip a fair amount of the progress you put in, keeping them fresher for longer. (Which also makes the "kill within 16 hours" thing dubious... once it's down the entire strat is visible start to finish, so you know exactly what to prepare for, accelerating your progress, on top of no longer having the pressure of the actual race. Unless your team is devastated, then this should result in more consistent play.) Obviously it's going to vary per RWF, per boss, etc and in the end it would be... maybe not best, but most fair if it was an official thing where teams competed to qualify to play on a tournament realm and all went down to an official event for a while. As it stands though, this is what we get.

@@cobbiie I think it is normal in a blind streamed race to look ahead at the competitions videos and copy strats if you want. The issue is really that it should be limited to copying off your current competition. Since the current competition is also blind and won’t be that many mechanics ahead of you and their strategies will likely be sub optimal. The team still has to decide whether sniping the strategy is a good idea. And the faster they make progress the more likely it is that their strategies will be sniped by the other team. It still falls within the range of adapting quickly on your feet and pushing most of the prog forward on your own. And it evens out. In older content using guides that have been published a long time ago and tuned for max uptime would be more of a race to who can execute a complete plan more quickly than the other. Which is still a race but not a blind race. If viewers were promised a blind race then that is what they should get. Not to mention if your competition is doing the race blind and expects you to be too then that becomes straight up cheating.

I want to preface this comment by saying that I 100% believe Max researched these fights prior to prog. However, your comments made on his input during Shiva are shaky at best, here's why. Using Immunities on Knockback Mirrors was absolutely discussed by week 1 groups, and any good group figured out they worked on the mechanic in one of the first couple of pulls. The difference being that Limit had 10's of thousands of people constantly telling them how tight the DPS check for the fight was gonna be, so them opting in to the riskier uptime strat was influenced by these comments. The other comment on him guessing Wyrm's Lament 2 also doesn't really hold water, because in a fight as long as Shiva is, it is reasonable if not expected that you would expect the dragon heads and debuffs to come back, because they were only used once during the entire fight so far. He didn't bring up the idea of there being 2 dragon heads until someone else brought up the possibility of mirrors being involved. As for it being a heal check, it is potentially more telling, because he only has experience with 1 final floor savage as precedent. That being said that 1 final floor had a famously wild heal check for its last phase, so it's fair for him to expect another one. This all being said, every other clip and comment completely supports the argument, and while I 100% believe he had knowledge of the fights, my comments are being made as a devil's advocate pointing out the only real counter-arguments I can think of for this entire video

I am basically just a wow raider, but iirc one of my guesses of what could happen was the double dragon. tbh thats common in wow progress. Wow progress is not blind, but Echo (scripe and roger mostly) is known to do less pulls when mechanics/strategy is not clear. THey spend A TON of time discussing and reviewing vods, and then try something else. Limit usually throws ideas on the table and keeps pulling fast. It evens out at the end cause if a group is far ahead you can just copy, plus Echo usually has to spend more pulls for the muscle memory of not dying or doing the required damage.

lol This is some deeply cringe shit. Seeing these transparent lies to preserve gamer cred and thin ego really takes me back to elementary school. It's pitiful on one hand, but you also gotta imagine that it wouldn't be the end of the world if he said something like "Yeah I saw this mechanic in a clip, what can you do?" It's just that the performance is so bad on top of everything else. Thanks for this based vid.

Nah it’s just standard streamer grifting. It’s no different than fake reaction videos. I’m more surprised that people are surprised.

one can only hope that this video spreads enough to the point where people will stop putting him on a pedestal in all these ffxiv-related talk shows on streams like he's the new voice of all raiders. But seeing how he's quite a big name out there due to WoW, it obviously creates an opportunity for smaller, original ffxiv content creators to get their name out there by collaborating with him. And sadly, clout > integrity. GCBTW ...wait no, it's BCBTW now! :^)

Well, he's proven himself many many times in situations where you absolutely cannot cheat. Multiple WF records etc. but i agree with you that they took way less time than Echo has taken and it's bit suspicious as they're pretty much equally good guild :D
