Why level 9? 4 levels into Monk with Tavern Brawler dominates Act 1.
@chi781811 ай бұрын
They aren’t really builds at level 5 since you don’t have enough to work with. That being said My favorite starting ones though are 1) berserk barbarian. 2 throws at level 3, tavern brawler at level 4, 3 throws at level 5. 2) gloomstalker hunter. 2 weapon fighting at level 2, dread ambusher 3rd attack at level 3 on first turn. Dual hand crossbows of course, but works melee. 3) college of swords bard. 2 weapon fighting (dual hand crossbows) and slashing flourish ranged (2 attacks) for 3 attacks per round at level 3. Be careful since melee flourish is only 1 hit but it cleaves so ranged is better. 4) assassin rogue. If you have experience and know where the fights begin, you can set up so many surprise sneak attacks. So sneak attack, initiative starts and you get your actions back, another attack that guarantees crit because enemy is surprised, enemy skips his turn because again surprise, regular combat starts. To get the surprise condition on an enemy you have to turn on turn based mode, then attack them without them noticing you, they are surprised after that.

It is super easy if you stick to one class and that class is fighter, Eldritch Knight (later respec to champion but that is way later after you get a returning weapon). Throwing build: All you need is a thrown weapon that you bind with EK ability, the throwing ring you buy from the first merchant in the circle, a shield and medium armor, and the feat Tavern Brawler. Enjoy a build that can melee, range, and spellcast that gets 3 attacks at level 11 and has an AC of 22-25 depending on how you build as your progress. Super simple build that can faceroll the game. 1d6+1d4+6+falling object damage (which sometimes also triggers the 1d4 to be added again) at level 4. You can get more damage but this is the simplest way that requires the least thought/planning before every fight. You can go more complicated by downloading the mod that makes sneak attack work properly on thrown weapon attacks and take mix of fighter and rogue levels, selecting assassin for alacrity and sneak attack and a guaranteed crit on unaware targets.

Yeah this video is for more advanced players or at least after you’ve played a basic first run. I’d never played video games (outside of simple ones like animal crossing) and so my friend helped me set it up and set it to easiest mode (explorer) and made my Tav a Druid so I could wildshape if I was low health (and also for healing abilities). I kept it really simple the first playthrough, played it as a “good run”, explored everywhere, found all the loot (became a loot gremlin), helped everyone to get their rewards, killed all the bad guys for their loot, etc. Now I’m on my 3rd playthrough and decided to play “bad guy” this time and also play on custom mode so I can make it harder, and now trying to figure out what I want to multi class build into. Basically for your first playthrough keep it simple, play on explorer mode and just play for fun. Once you get the hang of it then play a harder/custom level and do all the crazy multiclassing exploits you want.

@@ShiningDarknes the original commenter doesn't need to do all that. Just pump EVERYTHING into Wis and Dex and you are golden. Your AC now works off Dex and Wis, your attack (with shillelagh) now works off Wis as well, you don't need anything else. personal favorite: Drow Circle of Spores Druid. 7-27 damage per turn straight off the Nautiloid... if you can get a pair of Hand Crossbows. Symbiotic Entity adds 1d6 Necrotic to all unarmed and weapon attacks, including ranged weapons. Halo of Spores also costs a Reaction... and can target objects, including healing potions or elixirs that you've placed on the ground (which doesn't cost an action)

The problem that I have with grease is how difficult it is for the surface itself to survive. If any of your characters have fire dmg enchant on thier weapons it's over... Enemies often have fire attacks as well... That wouldn't be a problem if the explosion from grease dealt more than 1-2 dmg, but oh well...

Also using wapiras crown combined with a 2/2 warlock abjuration wizard with false life and mage armor invocations to block damage from the life transference illithid power can result is unlimited out of combat healing

This looks so fun! I like games that allow some bs builds for starters. I’ll definitely play around with it after I finish my first and legit walkthrough

These are all great, but I think the best low-level build that's overpowered is Wood Elf Moon Druid with the Guild Artisan background. Proficiency in Insight, Persuasion, Stealth, and Perception plus two of your choice from the Druid list, all of which are excellent skills to have. Darkvision plus 10.5m movement speed and proficiency with most swords and bows on top of Medium armor makes you a decent warrior when not in Wild Shape. Druid spells have an excellent mix of healing, crowd control, and utility including Jump, Longstrider, and Speak with Animals which you should cast every day. At 2nd level you can turn into a Bear six times a day, which not only allows you to tank serious damage but deal considerable damage in return. Take Tavern Brawler at 4th level for a significant increase in accuracy and damage in Wild Shape. At 6th level you can turn into an Owlbear which is outside of low levels but also, like, your build is DONE at that point. The best part of this build is you don't need any equipment to make it work. This lets you pick amulets, rings, and headbands that help in roleplaying without having to worry about combat viability. You can even make this build crazier by dumping Wisdom and pumping, say, Charisma instead and becoming the face of the party. You really don't need stats other than Constitution, for those rare times you get knocked out of Wild Shape and want to survive long enough to re-enter it, and for concentration spells if you decide to go that route.

Build idea if you made a part two: Lvl 3 Best Thief (1st level rogue and 2 in warlock) -Roguebfirst for DEX saving throw proficiency -Expertise in sleight of hand and one with shadows invocations. -Make sure you are at least lightly obscured for one with shadows Pickpocket till you fail then start combat, use one with shadows and beat the DEX save of "Detecting Presence". Then Repeat. Corellon's Grace is great for an easy +2 for saving throws (without armor) Bow of awareness is good for initiative bonus to avoid getting damaged. At level 5 (if Duegar) because you can go invisible infinitely and move away to avoid the saving throw entirely.
