I had a very basic idea about the sin mechanic in DS2, but didn't know about the permanent Wretch title if you commit 100 of them. I wonder if that can be accumulated in one game cycle? Or do you have to go into multiple NG+s to get it? I'm trying to have a character that has almost all, if not all items, weapons and max level. Yes, I am crazy lmao. May have to do the sinning so I can claim this too lmao.

If only execution was on par with ideas. I'd say some stuff in DS2 are way better than in a Miyazaki game, but overall badness makes it impossible to enjoy DS2, so the ideas are wasted.

There's one specific instance where it can get annoying though. The Lost Sinner's Sword is the lightest UGS, has great elemental scaling when infused, and has pretty good reach (though an unconventional moveset with lots of vertical attacks). The problem is that it only has maximum damage at 0 sin, and that damage decreases as you go up to 30 sin. There are only two ways to lose sin: getting invaded by a Blue Sentinel and dying, or having Cromwell do his free pardon. Unfortunately, you can only get invaded by Blue Sentinels if your sin is at least 10, so that method still leaves you with a minimum of 9 sin. And the other option with Cromwell is only available once per character, and does not refresh with each NG+. So basically, if you've used Cromwell's pardon already and then you kill any NPC ever, your character will never get full damage on that sword again.

Slight correction on the spices making spell weaker, that really only applies to buffs with a duration or spells like Homing Soulmass and Affinity. This is due to either the duration of the buff or the number of homing orbs above you being tied to either your Intelligence or Faith (at different breakpoints) depending on what you use to cast the spell. To my knowledge all other spells aren't effected other than dealing less damage due to having less Intelligence and/or Faith, but Soul Geyser will still hit hard even at 45 Intelligence. This isn't as impactful as a buff like Sacred Oath having a duration of under a minute. So feel free to Spice down any pure damage spell aside from Homing Soulmass/Crystal Soulmass and Affinity, it makes spells like Dark Greatsword, Soul Geyser and Blinding Bolt not as much of an ask to use with their stupid high Intelligence and Faith requirements.

Nope. The Dark Pyro Flame doesn't actually get a bonus from hollowing, what it gets is a penalty from not-hollowing.

I miss Attunement/Mind being the stat that determined Cast Speed. Also: Catalyst Infusions Catalyst Shields/Weapons Herbs/Waters Bonfire Ascetics Hexes (not the DS3 version) Staff R2s actually dealt damage

Spice doesn't weaken the spell it's applied to. The spell may be less potent than if you meet the normal requirements because your scaling is lower and/or you're limited to a weaker catalyst. if you bring your stats up to the normal requirements and use that spell it'll be as strong as any other copy
