I looked at the regular V4 of this amp and it also has the modified gain circuit, so this is not something special for the FSR, but noted with the FSR. It is a huge improvement to all of the Pro Junior's as of the last year or so and worth having, absolute. This was a really good demo, who someone who totally understand's the tonal language, of these kinds of amps.

sounds like maybe its a little bit smoother on clean (at volume 4-5) than the tweed pro-jnr IV version??? or am I wrong??? guess I'm more interested in its clean sound within the headroom, But seems there is a little bit of a "scratchy" breakup there over all the tones? guess I'm trying to see work out is how much of a difference between Jensen P10R and P10Q speakers.

I don't know why fender insists on using groove tubes. The higher end amps like the Clapton line of tweeds uses tung sol...... Much better choice imo even JJ would be better

Me my Self and I Just out of curiosity are the groove tubes bad?
@BW-dv5cd4 жыл бұрын
jbwiw2 they are not bad, I just find them a little stale . They do work but I find JJ or tung sol has s real musical quality to them.... I'm guessing fender knows this too because they do put tung sol in the higher end amps like I said
@PatatoKeftes4 жыл бұрын
You do realise groove tubes are just rebranded tubes right? Groove tubes don't have their own factory. They probably do use JJs or Russian tubes for rebranding.
@BW-dv5cd4 жыл бұрын
Patato Keftes well i like the sound of tung sol or JJ and grove tubes sound stale.... Maybe I've never had the luck of getting a decent set of GTs I don't know but there is a difference in sound and feel whenever I switch from GTs to another brand I like... It's subtle but an improvement... I didn't know groove tubes rebranded tubes but I stand by my comment on the difference I hear
@30smsuperstrat4 жыл бұрын
@@JohnWDGTandTele Groove Tubes don't manufacture tubes. Like Mesa Tubes, they are only a testing facility that buys tubes and puts them through a testing procedure. The truth is I've seen the original groove tubes in amps from the early 2000's still going. I've had tungsol tubes go bad in less then a year, JJ's are one of the worst for quickly developing tube rattles. The Fact is Fender owns the GrooveTube name, so that's what they're going to use.
