I don't have a Steam Deck yet, but I'm going to be picking one up over the RoG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. It just seems like Valve has their sh** together when it comes to this handheld. It's very impressive.

Shame about them not doing anything about the performances , Mad Max is an old game and it dipped to 17 fps in the beggining of the recording while hovering from 60 to 55 mostly. This tech is 5-10 years away from being usable for triple AAA games.

While pretty, Its not enough of a performance bump for me to upgrade but it gives me great hope on both the longevity of the OG Steam deck and the next version being even more of a beast and a worthy upgrade

If I remember correctly, Gabe himself stated that the original hardware wouldn't change much for at least 5 years after release, and that Deck would have somewhat active support from Valve for the same period. May be wrong, but for now it looks like they're keeping their promise :)

@@alexkartaviy that's definitely what separates the deck from all other handhelds besides the Switch, and ppl can say what they want about the Switches GFX but the support Nintendo gave that console is A+ and I think Valve is taking a page from their handbook and it's a great thing

Making a much better version just "a year" after it's release, and basically making the old one obsolete (while claiming, they won't make a refreshed model for a few more years) is not what i would call "longevity". I'm really disappointed in valve, i just bought my lcd deck recently, but not recently enough to be able to refund it, then valve releases the new one, suddenly.. i feel like i've been scammed, just as thousands of other people who bought the OG one recently. If the new one was announced 3-4 months before it was released, then allright, it's my fault, but not just one single week before the official release date..

@@MrGiHunt They didn't render the old version obsolete as they still sell it, KZbinrs are the ones saying that, and with 4fps difference anybody not trailing YT can clearly see its barely a bump in performance, the new features are nice but in reality its barely a mid gen refresh, it's just something nice to get if on the fence about a SD vs ROG etc I'm surprised at how many gamers have theirs up for sale on 2nd hand market, its not worth the upgrade unless someone wants your OG model, and Theye'd want it because the OG model is not obsolete

It is a beautiful machine. Did you have any issues with dead pixels? I just sent mine back for a replacement because of this issue. I already miss it

Yes that display is so much better in person! and no I haven’t noticed any dead pixels yet but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for that :)

@WildharpieECW I googled a dead pixel test and noticed a pixel when the screen was green or white, the dead pixel looked like a black speck on my screen. If you check and the pixel is white or some other color, it may just be a stuck pixel and playing one of those stuck pixel videos on KZbin or playing a graphically intensive game could fix it.

Not to be rude but i see alot of problems while testing like when you did cyberpunk 2077 you lock the fps to 30 on the LCD SD while the OLED SD was uncapped also half those games you played have built in benchmarks which would have gotten much accurate results and i don't see here whats the setting you used during the gameplay you did say that they were both the same which seems to be true but still. besides that great video

Love your game selection but seriously SF6 at 40fps looks likes they are moving in slow motion. Doesnt looks really playable to me. Othewise kinda hard to pick hudge difference between both screen on your camera. I bet it looks much better irl Anyway im definitely upgrading to LE as well

I feel like the reason it was slow might have had something to do with in-game settings. I'll investigate that but yea the OLED screen definitely looks much better in person. You won't be disappointed! :)
