Hey all! Just to set the record straight, I’m NOT comparing this to a Premium device or whatnot. Don’t get me wrong. There’s just many other better options out there at this price range. For eg. Xiaomi Mi 9T, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Realme 6, etc. These are all great smartphones at similar price ranges. Don’t hate and stay safe everyone! PS: My unit has a defective display so keep that in mind!

@@adibnaim485 Mediatek I rasa ok je. Depending model jugak la. I rasa Mediatek not as powerful as Snapdragon, tapi dia tak heat up as much as Snapdragon jugak. So ada pros and cons. But for daily use, kalao budget to mid range, Mediatek tu ok lagi. Kalao beli phone premium, amik Snapdragon je.

My Redmi Note 9S 128GB EU model doesn't have this screen issue. It's definitely not as good as an amoled panel but at least I don't get the bleeding. So maybe you got a defective one? :/

Just ordered one! I'm upgrading from an OG Xiaomi Mi Max. I figure I'm going to see and feel a pretty big difference, and it's even going to be a bit smaller in overall size. Plus there's already devs on XDA committing to development for the device. Something I'm still enjoying for my Mi Max 4 years after its release. XDA is the game changer. Not having to worry about software updates from a manufacturer and deal with bloatware is incredibly valuable. The dev support for the Redmi already surpasses that of many phones from 2019, and will easily be better then for something like the Realme 6 because of it's Mediatek processor. Also just throwing this out there but I don't like AMOLED displays. For some reason they don't look right to my eyes. Kind of like how the old CRT displays looked on camera but less extreme and more digital. Don't ask me why this happens, all I know is it's IPS or bust for me.

Try using the buttons for navigations. I used gesture navigation and faced some stutters. Maybe this will fix your issue

Others have complained about the light bleeding (the white lights at the sides). So probably the inside water-proofing or resistance isnt so good.

light bleed issues can be fixed thru software update, good thing that it's only a software issue, not hardware issue, xiaomi already addressed that issue and released an official OTA update to fix the screen issues.

Well it's pretty much the same display with its issues than the redmi note 7 which everyone raved about back then vOv. Generally speaking, dark themes don't look very good on IPS displays.

1 more sir, should consider the network band, endurance, else. I'm also consider a lot number of bands provided, because as u know the Telco also keep changing in people usage. Some phone might not support the band required by Telco line such band 38 and 40 to gain unifi LTE-A. Just my 2cent.

Hi, is there really no option to arrange the apps drawer in alphabetical order for Redmi Note 9s? Mine is Global version. My friend is using the same but her phone has option to arrange from the settings. I'm confused why we have different settings though we're using the same Global version of Redmi Note 9s. @@Danialdaneshmand super late but reading the comments on this video. Screen is great, I have zero issues. The camera on the other hand, won't open sometimes. Video recording too. When it's on the charger, and your trying to use it, it's awful. Buttons get clicked a few times with just a single press. Debating on sending it back, although it could be fixed with a software update possibly

Updated the system and I can't remove the sound in the camera app such as shutter, focus, recording sound. Have gone through the setting but cannot find where to remove the sound (I compared the setting with my friend's who is using poco). The sound is so loud even though I turn on the silent mode and adjust the ring volume. Also got a problem in focusing the camera...

Not9s is very powerful device. Stunning performance, great video photo capturing and last long battery life. I didnt see any issue on this phone. Only bad thing is the smartphone is too big and heavy.

love the redmi note lineup as well, but after couple of note's gonna skip out the 9's because xiaomi keep using subpar lcd, and using ips in this day and age is for me archaic, better save your money, get a decent midranger and get a device with amoled panel, wayyyyyy better. saw a couple of video regarding samsung's a51 (which have the same dot display design) and that thing sports an super amoled screen, couldnt really see much of a backlight bleed, thats a difference with build quality.

owh regarding with note 8 pro getting better bench score is that, mediatek purposely made the cpu to overclock if it detects a certain benchmarking application and games, not surprised because it uses a gaming oriented SOC. but i agree with you, the note 9/pro is a step backwards.

screen really bad with light leak around the edge, low brightness. Thats always a problem with xiaomi mid to lower end device. Since im using my phone a lot for Netflix and youtube, screen is the most important thing. I think ill go with realme 6 pro when its here in malaysia.

Just 1 day after releasing this video I have received software update for Redmi Note 9S - MIUI-V11.0.6 saying "Optimization: Issues with the display". It seems to be an update for the previous HDR bug, but it has nothing to do with screen bleeding. Screen bleeding is hardware related issue, not software. Cheers! :)

So I just bought a 6GB 128GB Variant here. And it's all great except battery is draining probably bcz of Miui 12. I don't have any display leaks or any lag in navigation. It's all great. But battery drains fast. It's not how a 5000mah battery should perform

The sensor is defective. The double tap to wake screen is not working and the proximity sensor when someone calls you cannot be disabled its a problem to me.

Hi there, mine was not fixed after the update. You might not notice it if you're using a colored wallpaper. Try turning on Dark Mode on your device, then go to Chrome and see if you still see the bleeding edges. It only shows up on light grey colors, not on colorful or fully black images.
