That old barbed wire would make a beautiful wreath for the new barn on the old wood walls! I saw one in a shop in Calvert on one of my many trips to College Station. Would be a great gift for you and Lincoln to make for Amber for Mother’s Day!

You should definitely write a song about doing this with Lincoln and what you imagine who that old farmer was who built that fence and lived on that land. Its easy to see how you write such good songs. Just think about how much Lincoln learned from this one interaction with his dad. So precious. The barn is coming along beautifully! Love the floral hat...and the sage/ charcoal. It would be hard to decide. I would totally get one of those.. probably the floral.

Granger if u have Coyotes you dont want the kids out wandering by themselves. This time of Year Coyotes have pups and are out looking for food to feed them.,so thinking of your chickens and dogs too.

When we find old barbed wire we make a small spool of it & hang it on our fence posts at our ranch. We’ve even got one in our barn for a decoration 😊

I can't love this video enough ! We have property in Indiana we love to hike and explore as well as camp and hunt... (we live in ohio) but our property has fence posts just like this and we follow barbwire line to mark our property lines with the huntstand app. It's so neat to learn and imagine what once used to be on at one time there are even hand stacked Rock walls we assume for cattle.. it's so fun

first of all.....Amber, I love the pink floral hat! But then I really wanted to say how I have come to look forward to the walking tours with Mavvy every episode!! He couldn't be any cuter! Just a mind of his own, with his own thoughts about where he wants to go and what he wants to do when he gets there! It was also cool exploring with Granger and Lincoln. I always wonder about the previous use of seemingly untouched land! Just altogether an enjoyable video!!

Thank you for sharing this Lincoln adventure with us. As I was watching, I was reminded of the many times my PaPa would take my little brothers and I on walks through the woods at their lake house. The stories he would tell, sometimes I always wondered how true they really were. He once told me that one of our ancestors was Alexander Graham Bell (just because our family name was Bell - haha). Your video sparked memories that are at least 40+yrs old. Bless you and your family....and I cant believe you placed your hand down in that hole - so scary...reminded me of the a scene from Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom ... didn't Indie have to place his hand in a hole of bugs centipedes spiders and such??

I think it would be neat to use those old fence posts and wire on your farm. You could set it up to grow green beans or any other vine plant. Incorporating history all over your homestead. A project for Lincoln could be using those old fence posts to build a fort. That would be a great educational experience and help build his skills in Bush craft.

GRANGER….look up The Old Fence Rider Museum in Edmore Michigan. They would probably appreciate a fence piece donated. It’s a museum that is mostly a barbed wire museum. Me. Carmen Drain would go to all of the elementary schools in the 70’s and 80’s talking to kids about it.

Granger in your county records it should show who has owned that property. I looked mine up here in Harris County. Just an idea. I laugh so hard when the cricket went towards Lincoln. His reaction was cute. Loved Amber calling the chickens as she is getting to be a country girl. Maverick sure loves the outdoors. Perhaps London could help Granger do some planting this spring. Mary Carl, Jason's daughter (Cog Hill Farm) helps in the garden. So rewarding to pick fresh veggies. Had a great time watching. Love y'all

Those cedar post fences are awesome. My family has about 600 acres about an hour South of y’all and just recently used the cedar trees on our property to replace the previous almost 40 year old picket fence and it looks amazing. And the floral hat is awesome 🤩

I love all of your adventures with the kids. Just a thought and you might already do this. Have any child that goes off exploring on their own to take a walkie talkie and have the partner walkie talkie on at home. Safety first. Wild animals, snakes, getting hurt, etc. Good to know you can reach them and vice versa. I taught pre-k for 27 years. Lol Always go to safety. Keep up the great work.
