Gravelyman sent me I have seen this a few times the Pelham drains block quite common over here in the UK. I have had to replace the whole bit of plastic under windscreen to stop water getting to my Audi a4.

the plastic umbrella clips should work .. it doesn't need to be tight .. but if you prefer screwing the cowl cover down, may I suggest some "J" clips .. it is a little u shaped metal clip with a nut affixed .. then you could use attractive trim screws to retain it

A blind nut essentially - I redid mine that the foam gasket under the cowl had disintegrated, which is what allowing the water to into the top opening. I sealed everything well and went OCD on it and sealed that snorkel or whatever piece it was VERR well with silicone. The foam sock gasket at the bottom of the cowl piece, I replaced with trimmed window sell and even before fastening anyone in please they leak completely stopped, even though I never screwed the cowl down or used the proper Ford design push pins like the Tbird had. I will have to finally finish and get that mounted down completely in a few weeks before cold weather starts in my ae
