This is one of Barbra's many signature songs which she originally performed on Broadway in the early 60s playing Fanny Brice in "Funny Girl," and then a few years later reprised the role on screen and won an Oscar for at the age of 27. If you get a chance, there's an actual clip from the movie available featuring this number. This, and two other songs from the movie, "People" and "My Man," are pretty synonymous with Barbra Streisand. No doubt Linda has some great chops and even though it might be a burden to be compared to an icon, it's also flattering I would think to be considered even close to that rarified air. She did a great job with this song. Linda, Lara, and Celine can hold their own too.

Thanks again Roscoe for reacting to my suggestion I really appreciate you! Linda does have a great vocal range as evidenced by a song she sang years ago which is in French. I think you call it an opera aria. I would love for you to check it out. It is called Vole Mon Ange. BTW what does Martha know, like you said everybody loved the crepes you made back in the day!

Roscoe would it be possible to request a song for you to react to by Josh Groban. The song is called Granted and the words mean alot to me especially now. I love great vocalists and meaningful lyrics that are uplifting. His popular song You Raise me Up certainly does that as well.

I've seen Linda in concert two or three times. She's amazing. You can't avoid some people comparing you to Streisand, I guess, if you sing some of her songs. LOL. I'm sorry you had to put up with Martha, Roskoe. :(
