Been on a Linda Ronstadt binge since seeing the tribute for Linda on The Kennedy Center Honors. I've been finding new videos I've not seen before on KZbin...her appearance on HeeHaw and this one...are just a couple of the new ones I've found. She was so amazingly talented.

Even early in her career, you can hear that Ms. Ronstadt had superb control of her vibrato. This is one of the characteristics of her craft that separates her from most other rock and pop singers.

Another wonderful performance by the beautiful Linda. And Andy Williams is a legend. What a voice he had and still has. A real class act too. I wish some of the people commenting on here would show some respect to Linda. I'm crazy about her just like the next guy and have had fantasies about her too. But could you please keep your perverted thoughts to yourself. Show some respect for Linda. She is a human being and a very warm, caring person and she doesn't deserve to be talked about that way.

Linda's hit "Long, Long Time" was in the year 1970, and I think Linda's appearance on Andy's show was near the end of 1970 or in early '71. She was 24 when this show was taped. She did a comedy sketch with Andy and the late Jimmy Durante, and also performed "(She's) A Very Lovely Woman." She was so beautiful and still is, in my eyes.

Two wonderful, and wonderfully different, singers together. Andy Williams is still magnificient, probably the greatest pop crooner of my lifetime, and Linda Ronstadt was (after Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin) my favorite female singer as a young girl in the late '60s/early '70s.

The poor, poor kids of today have no understanding of the perfect blend of talent, make that TALENT that some of the people of the 60's and 70's had to offer the world and everyone on KZbin should thank God or whomever that those guys invented it. Makes MTV, even in the beginning look like burnt toast. A FYI, the writer of LRs hit, "Different Drum" was written by Mike Nesmith of the "Monkees" who also was one of the creaters of MTV. Andy had some dreamy eyes. And, I don't know how anyone can say Linda is not attractive?? Geesh! Back in the day, my girlfriends and I knew Linda was attractive enough to be jealous of, but that would not stick because she was so unassuming and sang so beautifully that any jealousy would melt. We had to listen to our boyfriends go on and on about her, but secretly many of us wanted to look and sing just like her :)

You're welcome. Linda's sketch with Jimm Durante was warmhearted and funny. Durante was a carnival barker and Linda was trying for a stuffed bear by making three shots with a rifle. When she missed, she pointed the gun at Durante and told him to give her the bear. After she has the bear and walks out of the scene, Durante said "I didn't have the heart to tell her the gun wasn't loaded!" Linda could've been a pretty good comedic actress if she had been offered the

Linda looks mighty stoned here (seriously). And when she starts the refrain, "I think I'm gonna be..." a newbie to the song would probably think the next lyric is "SICK." It's a matter of taste. Dolly Parton said that Ms. Ronstadt had one of the three greatest women's voices. Emmylou Harris said that Ms. Ronstadt had one of the two greatest voices of the Twentieth Century. Eleven Grammys, five platinum albums, 110 million records sold. Best selling woman in Rock n Roll, and the Queen of Rock n Roll in the 1970s. 3rd best selling woman country singer. Best-selling non-English record in American history. @@thinkerly1 It's not a matter of taste. Some things are objectively factual. Carpenter was a pleasant extremely average singer who made it because she sang an octave lower than other women.
