I love Linda Ronstadt I grew up listening to her because of my mom, I was born in 71 so basically grew up hearing all the great artists. But when I saw this live I had to smile, I knew it was from the 80’s, she had that “pat benatar” haircut that was super popular around that time. It didn’t matter though, she was beautiful, and her voice was magnificent.

I never got to see her in concert, but I was "down in front" for many others, including Janis Joplin. Linda Rondstadt is one of THE most gifted vocalists of the past 75 years. Do listen to Joan Baez's 1968 Baptism - a unique and important album, still. I have the original vinyl (bought new in '68), and a remastered & expanded CD.

@@debbiechang5781 I lived in Tucson for 18 years and I was at a local artisan shop and just happened to run into her. I really didn't think it was her at first until I said excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you but are you Miss Ronstadt? She turned to me with a smile and said last time I checked and we both chuckled, shook her hand and told her how much I loved her voice even though I am so young to be a fan, I was 24 at the time in 2000. She smiled and said it was so sweet that a young man was such a fan of her music. We talked for a few minutes and she had to go, so then to my surprise she gave me a hug and told me to be good and she left. I know she is from and lives in Tucson. I just never thought I'd ever just run into her.

Harri, you'll notice she said at the beginning that the song was written by her friend John David Souther. That would be J.D. Souther who wrote the song, "You're Only Lonely" which you did a great reaction to about 9 months ago of the fantastic live cover version sung by Fortune, Walker, Rogers, Isaac. You should now do a reaction to J.D Souther's original of that beautiful song, "You're Only Lonely"!

Also J. D. Souther's "White Rhythm and Blues", "Last in Love", and "If You Don't Want My Love" off of his "You're Only Lonely" album. Here is an excerpt from J. D. Souther's biography when he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013. "A principal architect of the Southern California sound and a major influence on a generation of songwriters, Mr. Souther has either written or co-written some of the Eagles’ biggest hits, including “Heartache Tonight,” “Victim of Love,” “New Kid in Town,” and “Best of My Love,” Don Henley's super hit "The Heart of the Matter," and the Eagles’ single from 2007, “How Long.” Mr. Souther has written ten songs recorded by Linda Ronstadt, including classics “Faithless Love,” “Simple Man, Simple Dream,” and “Prisoner in Disguise.” He has collaborated with other world-renowned musicians, including his duet “Her Town Too” with James Taylor, and has worked with numerous other artists and writers, including Bonnie Raitt, Warren Zevon, Paul Williams, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Hugh Masekela, Burt Bacharach, Dixie Chicks, Raul Malo, India Arie, Roy Orbison, Arthur Hamilton, George Strait, Brian Wilson, Bob Dipiero, Bernadette Peters, and Trisha Yearwood. Mr. Souther released successful solo albums praised by publications like Rolling Stone, Time Magazine, Jazz Times, and American Songwriter. Mr. Souther’s songs have appeared on over 117 million albums sold worldwide."

Linda Ronstadt is one of the best female singers & can sing any genre from ballads to country to rock. She has had so many hits such as "Blue Bayou", "You're No Good", "Long Long Time", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado" etc. Ronstadt also did two great duets, "Somewhere Out There" (with James Ingram) & "Don't Know Much" (with Aaron Neville). The Eagles were her backing band till they went out on their own & she has covered a lot of their songs.

I must say that she is my favorite singer ever but she is messing this up royally. Holding back on everything for some reason. The full throated version on the studio recording is preferable to this and other times I've heard her sing this live she sang this better than this.
