Linda Ronstadt is one of the best female singers & can sing any genre from ballads to country to rock & even opera. She has had so many hits such as "Different Drum", "When Will I Be Loved", "You're No Good", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado" etc. Ronstadt also did two great duets, "Somewhere Out There" (with James Ingram) & "Don't Know Much" (with Aaron Neville). The Eagles were her backing band till they went out on their own & she has covered a lot of their songs. Also love her collaborations with Dolly Parton & Emmylou Harris.

The beautiful, angelic Linda was America’s sweetheart about this time. She was always the complete package, beauty, talent, and she was very smart about her career as well. She could sing any genre, even Opera. Check out her appearance opposite Rex Smith in the “Pirates of Penzance” film of the Gilbert and Sullivan musical. Being very proud of her Hispanic heritage on her father’s side, she’s done albums of traditional Mexican music, show tunes, you name it. So sad that Parkinsons has quieted that incredible instrument, now. I think she still sings privately with members of her family when they gather around her home. She has said she isn’t sad about it because, as a woman, she’d been given a lot in her life, many gifts, and lived a life many women would dream of. She’s been so lucky and blessed in life.

Linda Ronstadt’s career was remarkable. She won many Grammys and released copious albums. She grew up in the SW US, Arizona I think. She had Mexican ancestry and grew up singing popular Mexican songs with her family. One of her albums was called Canciones de mi Padre (Songs of my Father). She was even in a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.

I watched your face and you seemed genuinely surprised at her lovely voice. She definitely had the most beautiful voice on the planet until it was stolen by a neurological disorder, forcing her to retire in 2009. Her catalogue spans forty years and covers multiple genres.
