Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Linda Ronstadt may be the most amazing female voice ever. Another favorite of mine is Margot Timmins of Cowboy Junkies. Ethereal cover of Lou Reed's Sweet Jane.

Before some of The Eagles became The Eagles, they were Linda Ronstadt’s band. Then at some point, they parted amicably, and with her loving well wishes to form the band we know as The Eagles.❤️💯🤩✨🎶🎶🎶

Linda's voice was rich and special she could convey such a huge range of emotions with her vocals. You should listen to her version of "Someone To Lay Down Besides Ma", "You're No Good", "Hurts So Bad" and "Desperado".

Linda and I are about the same age. As a young female singer I studied Linda obsessively. Not trying to sound like her because that was impossible, but to learn her impeccable timing and how to be authentic in every way. I was brave enough to cover one of her songs, never this one. It is her’s and hers alone. It breaks my heart every time I hear it. Never be ashamed of crying when listening to it. If you don’t feel it you don’t understand beautiful authentic music.

Such a melancholy song. The most beautiful voice ever recorded. I came of age in the late 60's - early 70's listening to this music. To this day, my wife still teases me that Linda Ronstadt is the only woman that tempts my marriage vows.

She has a heart stopping voice as well as knee buckling beauty, and it is captivating both ways. "Love Has No Pride" (Live or studio will work) will do the same as this one CR. Her older oldies were something special.

Linda had incredible power, range, subtlety, and skill with her voice. You can take such a deep dive into her work. A few standout songs: "Desperado," "You're No Good," "Blue Bayou," "What's New," "I've Got a Crush On You," "Different Drum," "La Charreada." Folk, rock, country, American Songbook, Mexican Traditional and even light opera. She can do it all.

Linda Ronstadt: The Sound Of My Voice. An excellent documentary goes into the details of this song, and how it catapulted her into what she became. As the story goes, Linda was in NYC at a club as the opening act for Jerry Jeff Walker, after a show her guitarist Dave Bromberg said there was a good songwriter Gary White playing another club, and she should check him out for possible songs to do. They arrived for the last song of his set. After he packed up his guitar they went backstage and asked him if they could here some of his stuff. Long Long Time was the first song, Linda said she wanted to record it immediately. There’s more to the story, the documentary is a great watch. The rest is history. Her vocal talent was purely graced to her by a higher power. The only other female voices that have won me over as untouchable are Patsy Cline, and Edith Piaf. Totally unique, timeless, effortlessly fantastic, and other worldly 👍

Linda released this first as a single in the Summer I was born and it was a song I was raised with, which has always been a favorite. After seeing episode 3 of "The Last of Us," which used this song and was the title of the episode, it gave me a new appreciation for the song, which helped render me abjectly heartbroken.

I love Linda Ronstadt, I have seen her live so many times. The first time I saw her was in a smallish club in Los Angeles. She was with the Stone Poneys and she came out barefoot and in a kind of country girl dress. She was so young and so beautiful but when she started singing, I was blown away by her incredible vocal chops. Linda only wrote a dozen or less of the songs she sang and made famous, she was mostly a singer, but what a singer she was. She now suffers with Parkinson's Disease (which she says she inherited from her grandmother, along with so many other wonderful things) and is unable to sing but I am grateful for all of the wonderful music she has left for us to enjoy.

Thank you for doing this. I often request her songs and I always recommend her live performances except for this song. That’s because I have never found a live version that features the entire song. That’s because of the time restraints of 1970’s TV. Fun fact: Linda often performed barefoot, even on television. Anyway, she has the most beautiful voice on the planet. Thanks again for giving this stunningly talented woman the attention she deserves. 🌺✌️

And stop apologizing for showing a little emotion!! That's an asset not a drawback. Real reaction. Do you want to hear someone that would give Linda a run for her money? Try some Barbra Streisand. Hey thanks for reading my comment about the "missing lyrics" from this song when Linda sings it live. Thanks so much for reacting to the studio version, I really appreciate it!!🙏😎👍There's also another beautiful song by Linda that is not that well known, it's called "The Dolphins' it's a beautiful song, I think you'll like it a lot.. I have ALL of her albums. I grew up in Los Angeles and met her a few times at stores in LA, and told her how much I loved her voice..way back when, she was always bare footed, with her big hoop earrings and even when she did some shows on tv and sang she was also bare footed!! When I was a young adult many people thought I looked a lot like Linda, (including my sisters and dad )I had the dark brown hair and bangs and big hoop earrings, but I didn't see it. However when I went to records stores in LA and some restaurants, so many people would come up to me and ask "for my autograph" and I was like "why"??.I would say "no I'm not her'...and they all told me "you could be Linda Ronstadt's twin". I went through that for quite a few years, so many people stopping me and telling me I looked just like her...who knew??

Linda made it during a period when the industry was dominated by male chauvinist producers and record executives, and she was uncompromising! Still, one of the nicest, most genuine persons you would ever meet. That said, she did have the heart of a Tiger and would not back down or bow to them! She was a very special person!

Thanks for your reaction to the entire song. Linda grew up immersed in Latin and Country music in a very musical family. From the formation of the Stone Poneys, the breadth and depth of genres she explored blossomed and far exceeded everyone's expectations. The return to her Mexican-American roots in Canciones De Mi Padre was fantastic and it was so greatly appreciated by Spanish speakers the world over. I loved her music in my twenties and I've come to appreciate her talent even more in my 70's.

Perhaps saddest song ever!?! She never wrote any songs, but she immersed herself in the lyric, saw an interview where she said she needed to make a connection to the song so she could make it ‘personal’ .. she always made it better than originally done, even classics by hall of famers- buddy holly, Smoky Robinson, Neil young, eagles, Elvis Costello, stones.. versatile - she belted out rock and roll to full stadiums at her peak in 70’s, but grew tired of that.. she sang in broadway in basically opera and blew the regular audience and cast away.. immense and unique talent .. and you’ve gotta check out her collaborations with Dolly Parton and Emmy Lou harris on ‘trio’ 2 albums

Sorry to have to butt in, but you need to update yourself about Linda’s health condition. The Parkinson’s diagnosis is no longer valid and was changed to PSP ( Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), which sadly is an even worse rare brain disease. I happen to know a lot about it since my Mom had it and died a couple of years after diagnosis. I only hope somehow Linda fares better.

I appreciate your reactions. Regarding music from the 60's and 70's, I think it's generally wise to introduce yourself to new songs and artists from this period via their studio recordings. The audio technology in studios was so far superior to the technology of capturing the audio of live performances, that you can't fully appreciate the music. The studios were where musicians best applied their talents. Many or most big rock bands had very few television appearances and these TV venues rarely did justice to their talent. Most of the public never saw them perform live and only knew them via their records. The economics of music were reversed back then. Most of the money in the music business was generated from record sales and touring was done to support record releases. Now, most income comes from live concerts and recordings support concert ticket sales. I think hearing studio recorded version will help you better appreciate live performances later.
