Wow - a rarity of the first order. That voice of Ronstadt- always a musical pleasure to experience.

Where has this video been hiding?!! Really special to see them together. Ms. Ronstadt would've been content in this life as long as she could've earned enough as a professional singer to eke out a living. But thanks to the skills, instincts, and integrity of Peter Asher, she was catapulted to international fame-fame that gave her clout to explore and soar in every genre her musical heart desires to roam. And we were grateful bystanders as her dream unfolded.

Lorraine Liberti I couldn’t have said what you articulated here, Lorraine any better. I was so ecstatic to have stumbled on this gem here on KZbin. Wish Ms. Ronstadt and Mr. Asher did a record together - wishful thinking on my part.

@@lalique512 Was just thinking of you yesterday! Wanted to ask you what you thought of the album "We Ran." Had listened to it a while back and liked it, but hadn't listened to it "to death." Had Alexa play it via Amazon Music the other day and realized how much I liked it. "Damage" is a stand-out for me. By any chance have you been watching Leland Sklar's daily videos? He was the "human furball" Ms. Ronstadt referred to when she introduced the band during the Trio appearance on Johnny Carson. He's a gentle soul whose discography is mind-boggling. Attached the link below for the one he dedicated to LR. His personal stories are so endearing and entertaining. Unfortunately, I don't get EPIX, so will miss the Laurel Canyon documentary, but hopefully, it'll turn up somewhere else. So good to hear from you, Cynthia:) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXquqnx5acqrjbs

Lorraine Liberti Hi Lorraine, I have that “We Ran” CD as well but I haven’t listened to it for a while now. Since, you mentioned “Frenesi”, I have been glued to it actually but now with your sweet message, “We Ran” is one CD I will be listening again. Yes, I like “Damage” too but the one song I do really like there is “Cry ‘Til My Tears Run Dry”...this album is one of my most favourites. Again, it’s never easy to choose from her body of work because each album has a story. This morning, I was into the Trio album until about lunchtime - love “High Sierra” of course, “Those Memories of You”, “Hobo’s Meditation”, “To Know Him Is To Love Him”, “The Blue Train”....actually pretty much every song in Trio. The harmony of their voices is truly out of this world and one can easily sense the affection and respect they have for each other. The interview of these amazing women in Johnny Carson’s The Tonight Show in 1987 where they did 3 songs was so evident about the fantastic dynamic on their friendship. They are all beautiful in every way. They do love and like one another...and they have fun. Also, this message is actually to remind you of Ms. Ronstadt’s 1980 Live in Hollywood Concert which is scheduled on PBS on Sunday, May 31st. I read just recently that in NYC and Long Island, (if you’re in that grid), the scheduled timelines are June 4th and 6th but please do check your local listings. I saw this special in 1980 and believe me, it’s a great concert and in those days, the only way to record was via a VHS recorder and my own VHS tape is still good but the recorder/player doesn’t work anymore. I am so looking forward to this PBS telecast and had already programmed my DVR for it and even asked a family member to record it too as a backup. I imagine, it’s PBS’s time for pledges and I might just call in so I have an official DVD or Blu-Ray copy of it. I will not miss this event under any circumstances. It’s good to hear from you as well and I was thinking of you too until I came across this video and read your comments. It’s like the stars are aligned today for us to touch base again...all good. Do stay safe and I trust everything else is good with you and your family. Thank you for Leland Sklar’s link - I will definitely watch his video. Cheers! Cynthia
