Linda is a powerhouse of a vocalist & as a musician lead vocalist (I sing her songs plus Karen carpenter Celine D. motown etc) she has a beautiful down to earth soul and think back then touring with guys that must been rough & I know I toured with guys and I ended up keeping to myself alot just feel out of place being a female pro keyboardist. One of my favorite songs Linda sings that I sing "When will I be loved" "It's so easy" and Linda smokes every song she performs them with ease as I feel at first they were a struggle for me just at beginning ...love her showmanship stage presence. Great powerhouse of a vocalist!!

I've always loved Linda Ronstadt. Her music is so electic as is mine. My favorite song of hers is,"Different Drum" written by Michael Nesmith(of The Monkee). Had a rare opportunity in 1990 to meet Linda while visiting her best friend Dena O. and Tucson house setter. In Lindas' guest house there was a 1950's IronRite Mangel she did not know what it was or how to use it. I had her set at the controls and taught her how it was operated with her knees. She loved learning as she entertained often and wanted her large dining room tablecloth and napkins to be ironed perfectly.

Yea, Linda also lived on the beach in Malibu, and she has had 2 diff homes in San Francisco. Her home in Tucson sold a long time ago. She moved back to San Fran and bought the 2nd home there, which is the last home pic they showed. Many other inaccuracies as well. Badly done video.

Nancy - Linda was already solo by 1970. I saw her the very first time in August 1970 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, where she was among several performers who were popular in the 1960s (Classics 4, Tony Joe White, others). I was instantly a fan with her first song. I had never heard of her, but "Long Long Time" was playing on the radio at that time and my sister told me that was her. Before she actually became famous worldwide, I saw her at college campus stages, Disneyland, and semi-regularly at the Palomino Club in North Hollywood, CA, where I paid $3 to see her (and a couple of years later had to pay $75 to see her at big venues).

I'm old enough to remember when LR was the new kid on the block. After Heart Like a Wheel and Hasten Down the Wind, I thought, 'She's so good-looking, talented, rich and famous, I can't imagine that she ever has a bad day.' In an interview, she said something like, "For much of my career, I have battled depression, and for months at a time I've found it hard to get out of bed in the morning." Then Parkinson's happened to her and she had to retire. Did you know that she interrupted her LV show to talk politics to her audience? They got so mad at her that they threw their drinks at the stage! (She's listed at 5'2" but is now probably 5'0" or 4'11") Also, this video says she sold her house in S.F. and moved back to Tucson; in reality, she lives full-time in S.F. and is too compromised from health problems to do much but sit around.

Loretta - Actually, Academy Awards are given to songs/soundtracks of note each year, but the Oscar is given to the composer, not the performer (unless thay are the same). "Over The Rainbow" to Harburg/Arlen (not Judy Garland). Barbra Streisand for "Evergreen" in 1976 A Star Is Born (co-composer as well as singer). Etc. But the narrater was just ignorant about Linda.
