One of the first songs I learned as a kid. I'm pushing 70 and this made me get my guitar back out. Thank you David (and "Nick"!).

You really don't know what you missed out on by not being around in the late 1960s and early 1970s! Those were the good old days! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Keep up the great lessons.

I'm 70 years young, I quit working when the Pandemic hit. Needing a hobby I decided to try to learn to play guitar by listening to KZbin videos. What I usually do is find a song I want to learn and shop around for a comprehensive video. When I started looking for a tutorial for Long Long Time, I found you... I'm subscribed to your channel now, you make it very easy to understand. Thank you.

Yes to the full song sheet please . I love this song and the fingerpicking pattern seems doable for me . I’ve been trying to make myself start to play fingerpicking but keep getting frustrated and quitting. This does seem like a doable song for me , I will give fingerpicking another try . Thank you .

I forgot this song until Last of Us used it so well. Linda did a fantastic vocal. I watched a couple videos of her and found one live version at the Playboy mansion that was just Linda and her guitarist. This version made it really easy to get all of the runs that you taught. Great lesson!

You knocked it out of the park again. Easy to understand simple lesson. Great song. Amazed you haven’t heard until recently. But again the age difference thing. Boomers listened many years ago. You guys do well in the ice storm. We got hammered in Lakeway

Great and classic song by the one and only Linda Ronstadt. Thanks for doing this, David. A simple picking pattern, I just need to get the walk downs to make it sound great. Thanks again.

David, I'd love to see a full song sheet for this beautiful song. I saw Linda Ronstadt live in 1976 and this song still stands out as one of the high points in the show

Ive brought my GS mini with me to Hawaii. I’m able to find time each day to play. This morning it was on the lanai while watching whales breach. I’m going to find time to give this a try this evening. 🤙🤙

David, You're The Best ! Great Job! Similar to the other L.R. song you posted - "Willin." Agree that the particular scene you mentioned is one of the most poignant ever. Kudos for learning and teaching what my millenial daughter would describe as "old peoples music." LOL

I recommend fans of this song check out the version Linda Ronstadt recorded live at the Troubadour. None of the overdone strings on the album version. Her voice was just so huge and strong … utterly breathtaking!

Where do you find this version?
@charlesbuckley7407 Жыл бұрын
@@todddammit4628 I got my copy from the CD compilation "The Best Of Linda Ronstadt: The Capitol Years". I searched a bit and couldn't locate this particular version of the song online elsewhere but it looks like the CD is available at Amazon.

I pruchased the whole tabs and thanks, this level works very fine for a newcomer. Lots of fun. Problems about walk down: 1)intro part's last em, is it d2 d0 only, the second g0 and fourth g0 are not needed, as you played. 2)the last d7 in "Sounds like good adivce..." the g2 is not played. 3) For "And I think I’m gonna love you...", the last walk up, is it like the the last em in hte intro? thanks.

So for C the base note is A, but D chord instead of playing G string he plays D, and for E minor he plays D again? Im confused :/
@sandburgmartin79477 ай бұрын
Think he's referring to what the open string location is as in A is 5th, D is fourth.
