I'm so happy we were invited over to John's gardens. John is such a good soul with wonderful creativity and a sense of how to create a peaceful and tranquil setting. The only thing better than John Turman's garden... is John Turman! Just love his style and personality. His garden is such a tranquil sanctuary. I too, love green on green on green. Especially since I got into adding the chartreuse and silver grays. Now I need to incorporate some of the purple and wine colored shrubs. Those tall brick colored garden spires are very interesting. I wonder if it's too shady to add some solar crackle balls on top of each one. Just thinking out loud. Love his blue glazed pots , which inspired me to add some in my own garden. They just blend so beautifully with greens. Even if I never used the back table with the blue chairs... its such a beautiful visual in that little area. The walk thru the hallway to the back patio made me so excited. I knew where we would end up!!!! My favorite ever space off the living room. I would be out here every night! I love to water my garden , and find it a meditative experience. Thank you so much John!!!!!

This was a journey to a lush secret garden tucked away like a treasure. John’s garden areas are so serene and works of art to absorb. All the variants of greens with the blue, purples and hot pink peonies work perfectly together. I loved the different vignettes with the touches art and glazed pottery too- it gave it such a collected and loved look. Thanks for sharing and feel better John. ❤

The continual work is evident that this man loves his gardening. I love looking at all this and can appreciate the dedication. This is something that you plan a caregiver for if you are going to be out of town, like you would a pet. Just a few days of no maintenance and this could quickly have some losses. I think it's beautiful. Great job.

I have been wanting to pack my small side garden with plants to reduce weeds. I love what John has done with his driveway border! I have added some cold hardy spring flowers and some natives. Guilty. I am one that has watched his video tours multiple times! I feel that his garden style is one I would like to emulate. One tip for future videos, in general, when Linda is talking about a particular plant, if Stewart could video that plant, it would be helpful. Many times, I am not sure what plant is what. Some plants I recognize as I watch more and more of Linda's videos, but some plants I am still learning about. However, Stewart does a very excellent job video taping, so thank you Stewart!

John's Damaged Tree: I had a tree similar to John's that would not heal. I finally took screen wire and wrapped around it . . . not too tightly. The screen wire kept sun off but allowed air circulation. It took a while but it finally healed very nicely. Always love when you travel to his home.

Thank you for this suggestion. I have a 3 year old Yellow Butterflies Magnolia that appears to have been sun scald damaged this past winter. I have been researching solutions. I assume you mean “window screen”??

Linda, thanks for bringing us John! I love your gardening, Linda, and I love John's ideas. I have only one bouquet of blue bottles with a couple of balls in there. I have a bottle tree of blue bottles my Dad gave to me. Thanks for the tour. I lost all my succulents except one. I also have a wine rack (cast iron) with blue bottles on my fence. So #1 Bottle tree, #2 Bottle rack, #3 bottle bouquet!!
