Diane Abbott supported the IRA and openly called for the defeat and overthrow of the British state by t3rrorism. She is a far-left extremist tr41tor and is unfit to be an MP. She has never been a fit and proper person to be an MP. Clearly she did not take her MP's oath in good faith given her view on her own country. She should not be allowed to speak, ever, in our parliament, she should be expelled.

Again it’s double speak here. She’s the first black woman in parliament, she has been a parliamentarian for almost 3 decades. She’s has stayed an MPs despite the abuse she’s suffered. But of course you are not called out for saying you don’t rate her as a politician. I guess in the interest of learning about unconscious bias. You should ask yourself again what she would have to do for you to rate her as a politician and see how many white or male politicians have achieved that. It’s so sad to see people quick to call out overt racism but in the same conversations employ what is at best micro-agressions (but what is in reality just racism)
@3108dd

Seriously...?! I could write you a long list of the disgraceful and indefensible things that she has said and the policies she has supported. At a very high level: pro IRA, anti Britain, pro Soviet Union, pro Jeremy Corbyn, anti police, pro criminals. She also is a serial offender for racist, generalising statements about white people. Eg "White people love to play divide and rule". Google it. No one should ever be "called out" for criticising her as a politician. Of course she should never be racially abused. No one should be. And of course she should have been allowed to speak yesterday. At a debate about comments that someone had made about her - which were undeniably racist. That should go without saying. And Lindsay Hoyle has serious questions to answer for ignoring her throughout. But your point above - that people who criticise Abbott as a politician are motivated by racism - is untrue and unacceptable. It is not remotely racist to criticise her politics. Nor is it misogynist. But she herself has claimed that throughout her career - anyone criticising me is a racist misogynist. It's a despicable lie and a horribly divisive tactic to shield herself from scrutiny of her awful policies. There are many valid reasons to thoroughly disagree with everything that Diane Abbott stands for. Her race and gender have nothing at all to do with that.

I think any opportunity we have to not have to listen to Dianne Abbott we should take. Super excited for her to not be selected and lose her seat at the next GE.

Diane was not called to speak by Hoyle because Starmer got to him again. She would have referenced the Forde report which Starmer has not acted on.

The Commons majority wanted someone who would defer to the establishment and that's what they got. No one should be shocked when he acts exacts exactly how he is supposed to.

There is a term the treatment of Diane Abbott; misogynoir. Yes, it’s a real word and has a dictionary definition.

It is not “bizarre”, “weird” or a “mistake “it is intentional political manoeuvring. And the fact that none of you state this as THE most obvious explanation is quite the tell. There is a “gender aspect” for sure but there was a political agenda overriding the Speaker’s actions…..again. However there was an eagerness to repeat negative references to “her politics” nice and cosy for you all 🥰 even if off subject….not at all in keeping with the notion that chlorine is needed in the journalistic background pool.

Diane Abbott has been in politics too long. I can’t say one thing that she has actually contributed to that has benefited British people.

Does that mean she deserves to be shot? I recall a female and a male white politician was murdered . Making any statement for a politician to be shot is a haneous thing to do. Speaking as a black women I don't care if Hester hates us. I don't much care for men like him. But it is beyond the pale to treat a woman with such little respect as to talk about her in her presence and deny her the right to reply.
