The fact about Lindsey, he is the most talented member of the band, at this point they are in their 70s, it really does not matter, but check our Lindsey on you tube, his solo forum sets on TV channels or at USC campus, etc. He is the only one in the band that has the ability to pull this off. Stevie knows this, that is why she has been jealous of him for over 40 years, this is really what this stems from, when Lindsey is on stage, she is always going to be upstaged, Stevie's greatest moments of her career is when Lindsey is giving her song's life with his guitar playing skills. Lindsey can always "Go his own way" and does not rely on others to entertain people. He can do it all by himself with just his guitar and his voice. He is the only one in the band who can do this for an entire set.

Yes, they broke up during the recording of their second album because Lindsey wasn't on board with Stevie giving her everything to FM, and Stevie wasn't okay with Lindsey's obsessive studio behavior. The longest breakup in history, apparently they kept getting back together until 1999, when Lindsey's girlfriend got unexpectedly pregnant. Lindsey wanted fatherhood more than anything else, so that was that.

I believe the situation between Lindsay and Stevie is contrived to look worse than it is, to guarantee ticket sales and record sales as a musical soap opera. To say their relationship is not gotten over is ridiculous, after all they split in 1977, and it speaks volumes about their partners and families, that they take second place to a situation which is ancient history. He's been married to his wife Kristen for about 20 years (she's more than 20 years his junior). They have kids. He's happily married. He been creating music independently and with McVee for years. Stevie Nicks is single. Her life is her career, but her career is stuck in the past via reunion tours. And she had Lindsay kicked out of the band; this is not in dispute (this is coming from Fleetwood Mac's manager). You're not reasoning this out completely. Did Lindsay love Stevie? Does he still love her? Probably yes to both to some degree. And you can't be soulmates with someone who rejects you. That's not how it works. She's just someone he use to know. But nothing in his actions or words sound bitter or resentful. More like hurt over being rejected by the entire band.

Irv orchestrated this to drive ticket sales for the tour. Lindsey was kicked out because he didn't agree to touring dates (he left a meeting because there was nothing left to say - his words). He never agreed to the original date schedule so rving added the smirk story to raise hype for the tour. Lindsey only has himself to blame but his huge ego doesn't allow for self reflection.
