Ok guys so let me get this straight: You want Lindsey to start break dancing? Doing the robot? All while playing the Violin? She's being expressive, not trying to be the worlds best dancer and who gives a damn how she dances. EXPRESSION IS THE KEY TO CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION!

I love it... If Lindsey was around when I was playing violin in junior high school, I would have never have quit it. She's an inspiration for me, because I practice my violin more now, at age 57, after picking it back up about 4 yrs ago.

What I love about her dancing is that it's so accessible. She's obviously very talented, but the way she moves is so simple that it feels natural. It doesn't feel like something she practiced or went to classes for, it feels like the kind of dancing that you do in your room while listening to your favorite song. Except way more polished and awesome. Gosh, I'm jealous.

The reality professional musicians and dancers can always find faults in whatever people are doing, but to untrained ears and eyes, this is pretty damn good. It's pretty hard to compose a song, play it and dance to it, so stop with all these degrading comments.

@benjierooster11 жыл бұрын
It's always funny to me to read the comments by some people on here. People saying they would like the performance better if she didn't dance..... She's known as "the dancing violinist" duh. Then the comments about how her playing isn't as perfect as it should be, have obviously never played the violin. It is considered by many to be the most difficult instrument to learn and to play. Mostly it's because the slightest disruption of the bow movement completely ruins the sound and the slightest shift or misplacement of the left hand on the string changes the entire pitch. So the fact that she's moving around like that and still getting a fantastic sound and great intonation is nothing short of miraculous....
@AtlasMillerViolin10 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call it great intonation, or fantastic sound. But yeah, I respect her for what she does.

I think anyone who criticizes her performance (a) isn't a musician (b) hasn't listened to her albums understanding she COMPOSED not improvised the music (and in that regard IS a great violinist) and (c) if live sound is less perfect than studio recordings, realize that only because she makes playing the pieces LOOK so easy, do they get the false impression that it IS so easy. She is a prodigy.

@SierraStoneViolin11 жыл бұрын
Well, that's what makes her as popular as she is now. She dances while she plays because it adds a unique effect to her playing, while she is already taking a twist on the stereotype of the violin being a "classical-only" instrument. I mean, just how often do you see a person playing violin and dancing at the same time? It makes her stand out.
@WilliamBowles11 жыл бұрын
She's gotten much better (and the music is phenomenal with a live drummer behind her) since this video, which was still pretty impressive. Besides....I wouldn't buy a concert ticket to watch someone sit in a chair and hit 100% of their notes. I'd much rather watch her twirl around the stage and hit 98% of them. Amazing live performer :)

I really enjoy watching her dance - even if her moves are not particularly difficult and maybe even a bit awkward at times. She's unique, and I think she established a great balance between her dancing and her violin playing - she doesn't jump around too much, so her violin still sounds awesome! Gotta love Lindsey
@LivingDead537 жыл бұрын
She's gotten a lot better. Each year her music grows. I was in strolling strings as a kid. I have no musical talent, and I ran into someone during the concert. My music teachers hated me but never had the guts to tell me to leave or that I should pursue other hobbies. I'm a special snowflake, just try. I'm joking. I got mad at them, but I can only be mad at myself.

Lindsey Stirling, you are amazing, amazing, amazing! Not only are your songs vibrant, but also so soothing. I salute you and want to encourage you to continue to do your absolute best. Many are expressing words of dislike and animosity towards your craft however, I would like for you to focus on the fans that simply admire and appreciate your talent and gift. Classical and electronica meshed is sheer brilliance. I wish you further success!
@zfreek9812 жыл бұрын
Have you stopped to consider that perhaps she's BREATHING? The sort of bowing she's doing to hit those notes as fast as she does and without error takes a lot of concentration. On top of that, the fact that she's twirling around like a cheerleader and a ballerina put together WHILE playing. That concentration and discipline is unmatched, and no doubt she's holding her breath here and there. The sudden smiles would come from realizing how awesome that part of her performance was. :D

@videotampa10 жыл бұрын
As a professional musician, I'll agree she is not even close to a being a 'great', violinist, by far. But this is HER own style. And whether you like it or not, she IS the best at it. I would hate to think how many years she spent getting her intonation to work while violently dancing every which way. The fact is this: She's successful because of a strong work ethic not by accident..And for that, good for her. I'd still rather see this music become popular than most of the producer-written, no-talent, auto-tuned crap you hear on the radio these days.
