Right on! As a fun note, the HP Filter is inspired by the FAC control on the old Orange amps.

I'm really digging this amp with my Strat. A rare amp that I was able to dial to make my bridge usable without being shrill and kept the neck from flubbing out.

Intresting about this Ventoux amp model... I was using it and added the Dynamic Hall reverb and then I noticed like 95% of the amp models were greyed out. So two takeaways... this is one of the lightest amp models on computing resources, and the Dynamic Hall if one of the heaviest ;-)

Favorite Helix amp model so far. Its so ding-danged versatile, and its hard to make it sound bad! This is my new go-to amp. Thanks Ben!

I got the most amazing Preset on my HX Stomp by dialing in the Ventoux Amp, and combining it with the Helioshere and Dynamic Hall reverb. I added the Minotaur on one of the Snapshots for a lead. The results are absolutely stunning - The best I've ever gotten, and so easy to dial in. The new Delays and Reverbs are incredibly good! 👍 Thanks Line6 and Ben for creating such an outstanding Amp and Firmware Update, and thanks Jason for the helpful walkthrough. 😎 Jason - When you get the chance, I hope you can do a deep dive into the new multi-functionality now available on the footswitches in combination with the Command Center, something particularly useful for us HX Stomp users. It looks like 3 (+2 external footswitches), if cleverly programmed, is all we might ever need!. I would be particularly interested in what "philosophy" to programming them you think would provide the greatest flexibility, depth of feature access, and ease of use. Thanks

Same here. The Ventoux is insane. When I dialed it in, I went from "Sound pretty good" to "getting even better"... to "Oha WOW!"... Definitely a future favourite. Thanks for the Minotaur tip, I would have gone with a Tube Screamer normally, but just followed your advice, and it just sounds awesome. I'll use it for leads and heavier rhythms as well. Did my usual four Snapshots: Clean, Drive, Rhythm and Lead. Big thanks also to Jason, learned so much from your channel. And worked with your template, of course :-D

@@tk7836 I tried all the Distortion Effects, and the Screamer was the other one that sounded pretty good with the Ventoux Amp. But, I thought the Minotaur sounded a bit better. I thought is was fitting that a boutique style Amp should have a boutique Distortion. Did you happen to try the two Reverbs? The combination of the Heliosphere (Mix setting turned down), with the Dynamic Hall adds some extra magic to the Preset. 😎
@tk78362 жыл бұрын
@@picksalot1 I used the Dynamic Room, right, need to check with Dynamic Hall as well. Watching the dial in video for the Heliosphere now, so far turned to my standard Elephant Man (used a Memory Man as a stomp box for a longer time... so a bit biased here... 😁)

Every setting sounded terrific, even in the extreme territories for each parameter. I can't wait to get some sit down time with this amp later today. Think I will have some real fun with my Tele in the bridge pickup.

I dialled in a simple preset and cor what a great sound! A bit of tape delay and dynamic room and it was good to go. I’ve now just made my 1st marketplace purchase which is your ultimate preset Jason, as I NEED to use this model for a gig at the weekend and I know you will have covered all bases with it. 👍🏻

Amps like this make me rethink my use of the Stomp. Maybe rather than trying to sound like something specific, I should just pick an amp that sounds great. Afterall, in the old days, when I played through tube amps exclusively, I only ever had one with me. Sure, that's part of the benefit of using a modeler, but for me, not the main benefit. For me, the biggest benefit is being able to play at ANY volume level and still have the desired amount of grind in the voice I want.
@RockDaddyNL2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason, your video is usefull as always! When dialing in my own Ventoux snapshots I noticed that the amp is quite noisy (like a hum) when not playing. By default, I have the "Input gate" on at the standard settings. However, I have to turn the "Ripple" parameter all the way down to zero to get rid of the quite annoying noise. Do you (or anyone else here) experience this as well? Rgds, Iwan

Hi Jason, I went through your settings and tried them live. After trting them. I get the impression these videos are more geared toward home or low-volume enthusiasts. Is that the case? Do you have recommendations/videos for performing Helix users who go to FOH? Thank You. PDK

They should add HP Filter Control to every amp. It is such a problem solver.

Sounding great as usual Jason! One question about the sound in the video production. What are we hearing, the Helix usb straight into your DAW, Helix outputs to a sound card into DAW or some kind of room mic that pick up sound from your monitors? Thanks for the awesome content you out out!
@JonWickensMusic2 жыл бұрын
This is already my favourite amp on the helix. The high pass filter along with the depth helps me to remove the unwanted flub but retain, funnily enough, depth. Especially needed when playing in open C. And so touch responsive for a digital amp model. Unreal stuff!
