I love that there's a no nonsense approach to your tones and if it works (Badonk), don't change it! I love the Helix, and because it's so robust with tone shaping, you can almost forget about writing and playing guitar; spending your time tweaking. Tones sound awesome \m/ ~ I can relate, my hair started thinning in my 20s. So when I turned 30, I just embraced it, threw out my hats, and shaved my head. Best decision I ever made. I've been diving into upgrading studio monitors and room treatment stuff. It appears that you are mixing in a room without treatment, is that right? I can't help but feel like room treatment is overblown. If you have no flutter echos or reverb in your room, you should be able to mix reasonably well without acoustic treatment. Any thoughts?

I makes mostly and headphones. You are correct and assuming my room is not treated. If you know what to listen for you can get away with it but I would never suggest that I treated room is overblown or overhyped. If it’s something you’re going to do on a professional level, it would be who you to have the best tool as possible and one of those tools is a properly acoustically treated room. I’ve used headphones so much and the same pair for years that I know how things translate. The best advice I can give is just learn how things sound on your own gear. You’d be surprised what you can get away with.

I guess that's what I was getting at with the overblown comment, the internet seems to say that you can only get good results with a treated room, but clearly, great results can be had by knowing your gear.
