I have one of these and find it the easiest multi effects board I ever had. I also have a R350 Digitech, a Pod 500, a TC electronics nova system ( best sounding unit for distortion I have ever tried but a pain to use on stage, a Boss G10 and a load of stomp boxes. Over the years Ive bought them all , made my "boards etc but this is probably the best so far for ease of use and portability. Easy to set up at gigs, awesome HUGE sound if you run two amps out of the back of it.I love it.

@hawg427 Product Manager for the M13 here. The new PODs have all the effects from the M13 built into them now. The old PODs did not have enough DSP to run amp models and M13 fx, so it is a big improvement for POD to put in our premium fx that artist have been using for years. M13 was born from the DL4 and the other 4 button stomps.

i have used one of these for a long time , through les pauls , strats , ,marshall, fender , peavey and orange tube amps, i only use 5 or 6 effects , and i play in a lot , in a working band and practice and just jamming , it sounds good live , the one problem with it for me is the power supply , i have no problem with my other power supplies except this one , im on my 3rd one , im about to give up

@coffeeflush You can run the M13 in true bypass so that when your effects are off actual mechanical relays trip and send your guitar straight through from the input to the output. It has been out a while and one thing guys talk about is how it doesn't muck up your guitar's tone that it works well with your guitar.

BTW on the issue of distortion..this unit is as good as any of the pedals I use or have tried. It has a lot to do with the amp you are running into , works great with Fenderamps and pretty good on Blackstars. I have to say with the Blackstar I use its overdrive channels as they are fantastic ... few amps better IMO. I get a lot of positive comments on the sound of my rig at gigs so maybe you have to tweek the pedal to get what you want ..I did and I do!

the distortion at the end is the Carvin amp with the tube screamer modeler added in front - I'm guessing? I'm using a Peavey VK100 tube head, since my Johnson Millennium 250 head is getting long in the tooth - the Peavey lead channel is pretty 'not metal' in my opinion. Looking for something to beef it up - playing heavy 7-8 string stuff. It's either between this or the Digitech RP1000.

I thought my M13 was broken yesterday. I have it in a skb ps45 pedal board getting it power from the board. I turned it on and started jamming with my band and the M13 started to turn on and off. I felt like crying thinking it was broken. Turns out my pedal board power is f'd up. So i connected it to my powre conditioner and it is still working like a charm. It sucks if it breaks cause im unemployed right now and going through rough times.

@aceman42 It may be that the knob bottomed out. If you carefully take it off and put a piece of business card in the knob, you may get enough travel.

@heavymetal1110 It really depends on what you want to do. Do you want amp modeling and great effects that are made up of presets you use or do you want just effects that are very easy to use and more like a pedalboard on the fly kinda deal? They are both great units, just depends on application.

If I were to buy this NOW, does it already HAVE everything, or are half the efx up to the Line 6 Magilla Gorilla...which, since I'm not an astronaut and don't have the degrees it takes to build flying saucers or whatever, WILL NOT work for me; that kind of stuff NEVER does. I was trying to update my x3 from that-- nothing would happen. Not EVEN the ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD-KID from next door could get it to work!! So what does THAT say...DAMN...

I have heard little, tid bits on how good this thing can really sound, wish I could hear more ...
