I also design the characters and costumes separately before doing the final piece. I keep binders and digital folders of notes on my made up characters and creatures and also some plants. Then either make more and/or use from my archives. Of course this piece was done for a client and had to fit into the world it was from. Nice to see your process. More narration and explanation is always better. I rarely even watch the pure timelapse with music and no narration/voice over. I watch videos while working on my own art or doing chores so being able to listen more and look up now and then is preferred with of course the option to decide to stare and give every detail my full attention. Just starting to make my own videos. I need to get some sort of app for my iPad Pro to screen record what I do In Clip studio so I can also record that for videos not just Procreate. Excellent work, your art is fantastic!

Thanks so much for the feedback! I just started making a tutorial series on the channel, which is going to be all commentary etc.. even future timelapses will have more commentary when it comes to frame of mind.. what i was shooting for etc. totally agree!

sorry can i ask you ? I used the intuos pro for so long but I want to change to a pen display, do you think the wacom cintiq 22 is a good choice? will 1080p resolution be a problem? is 4k necessary? for concept art

Hey dave, what were the demensions and dpi for this piece?
@raymondpcowie1015 жыл бұрын
Clearly you haven't done it here, but do you think it a good idea to do the environment and characters on separate sheets, then lay the characters on top once both are complete?

why do you put so much time and effort into lines, would the result be different if you started with blocks of value or color?
@DaveGreco7 жыл бұрын
I definately swap from piece to piece. Sometimes I started with only black and white value and start overlaying color with zero line.. but sometimes a piece feels like its pushing me more for a line approach. I enjoy playing with both. but I do feel like with line I can end up wasting alot of time since I paint over most of it in the end.
