Such a unique place. Definitely one of the the more memorable projects which we’ve poured at over the years.

Any line turbulence that can be illuminated is always a super plus…. Lol pore on the go!! I am not too sure if your old enough to remember but many many years ago concrete was actually mixed on the job site . An you never ran short or had too much extra… was rear dump rig an the cement was on one side of the truck, the gravel pee stone was on the other side an mixer was on the back ..Actually was great !! A bit slow but you never had to deal with a hot load of mud because it was mixed right on the job site

I dont know why line pumping is so satisfying but it is.

It’s messed up. The line-pumping videos are honestly my favourites. There’s just so much more involvement/interaction which takes place with line-pump. Also, come winter time, line-pumping keeps me warm 😁😁😁

I work on line pumps and other pumps. I don’t get in the field much to watch them work. It is cool.

That comment about canola oil has me riled up. I swear, covid was like a blank check to companies looking for a reason to price gouge without risking being held accountable. Canadian canola oil production in 2022 was only marginally worse than in 2016 (the two worst years in the last 7) yet futures now are 50% more expensive than the highest in 2016 🤔🤔 Anyway. The Algorithm sent me and I'm enjoying the videos! I would never assume concrete pumping was simple, but it cool to see the various tricks to make it a less work!

I appreciate you coming over to enjoy the channel. I agree, the whole Canola thing is such a scam. With the insane cost increase, coiled with lack of available staff, It’s no wonder restaurants are dropping like flies these days.

I use the pumper caddy’s in Nz and I always get comments on how great an idea it is. Like you mentioned it shows that you care 👍🏻

Love your videos man! What’s that “fairy dust” you throw in the hopper before every pour?
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 Жыл бұрын
It’s powdered bentonite (same stuff we mix up with water for priming the lines). I dust the hopper with it, then mist it with water to create a layer of mud inside of the hopper which helps to keep the concrete from sticking to it. Appreciate you watching the channel 🙏

It's rare that we pump a slab thats not heated these days. Even most driveways are heated. But nearly all houses in the country are heated with geothermal water that's not really expensive so why wouldn't you

That makes complete sense. We actually have geothermal in our home here. It’s an amazingly efficient system. The only drawback I’ve heard with in-floor radiant heating is that it’s quite slow to react to temperature change (eg: houses with large windows when the sun comes around during the summer). For that reason, we’ve actually seen traditional forced air heating in some very high-end builds.

Our geothermal is a bit different tough. We get 60-80c hot water piped to every house from geothermal plants or bore holes that tap into geothermal areas here. But yes its usually much slower to change temperature with under floor heating than the usual radiators we have if under floor heating hasn't been installed

@@kjartanB Now sounds amazing, and extremely efficient. I feel like we are so far behind here in terms of technology.
