from expat in nz when the crabs are bad i use a sliding float rig set the depth a metre off the bottom you can get enough distance with a 2 oz lead and float to suit ,give it a try if the waters warm you will catch the rays mid water....

As a kid I used to read the sea section in the Angling Times, back in the early seventies. I would fantasize about all these amazing places along the South coast to fish (I lived in the industrial North West). I think since those days, the number of fish available to catch has diminished dramatically :-(

Agrred about the Mersey, but more now compared to almost zero back then wouldn't be too hard ;-)

You surprise me with many things that you do I’ve fished in the UK - South Africa and Australia - - never have I used 2 hooks - my strike rate with a single hook is very high - on the local beaches we get Eagle Rays in excess of 100 kgs - they are good fun off the beach With your bait - for me the best part of the bluey is the head and tail - if you want to use a cocktail put the tail section on first and then slit open the squid and then wrap the squid around the bluey and then tie it on Never would I use line heavier than 50 lbs unless I’m going for sharks and then I use a steel trace

Beach casting like this is so much chucking and hoping. Almost all other types of fishing use more skills to entice fish into an area to try and get them feeding....
@bobnice30446 жыл бұрын
You sound like my old man, he always said that on a lake or river you could always see certain places that looked fishy but you don't get that at sea you just cast into infinity and hope!

@bobbysilver2726 жыл бұрын
You really are an idiot. Who said anything about fishing in an overstocked pond? Rivers, chalk streams, large reservoirs, massive glacier fed lakes, boat fishing, all can use skills to attract fish etc....
@masterbeethoven82094 жыл бұрын
44:36 I think id rather catch that than a whiting or a dogfish
