The video reminded me of my 4 years in France & Germany with the Canadian Forces, back in the 1960s, with side trips to check out trains in Luxembourg and Belgium. This type of crocodile loco has always been my favourite European class

Great video, thank you very much. But BB 12000, CC14100 series were all runing in North-East in France not in North West. ^^

Yes, that was a 'slip of the script' - which was noticed shortly after original publication on DVD.

I remember seeing one of those steeplecabs at Luxembourg city station with a local train to Wasserbillig in 1993.

The 53 BB13000s, with direct 50-Hz traction motors, just barely made it to the period covered by this video; the 20 CC14000s didn't. Their complex single-phase/3-phase system made them very trouble-prone; they were retired in 1981. They otherwise resembled the CC14100; the BB13000s resembled the BB12000s. These 4 "flat-iron" classes ushered in the 25 kV 50 Hz era at SCNF.
