I just got mine today. Wow the padauk wood is beautiful. It sounds so good compared to the cheap junk ones I bought before. This is a REAL musical instrument. Everything that comes with it is quality. I never heard of this company before, but they hit a homerun with this kalimba.

The more I look at various comparisons videos, the more the Lingting is becoming my dream kalimba to get. Since my first two are 17 keys, I think I would go for the 21 keys. But they are all soooo gorgeous! And the chain and tassle! So cute!

After watching your review I decided to buy one. It is amazing and far superior to the one I bought for the lady in my life! That was not a cheap version but was disappointing with three dead tines that despite applying all the fixes I found on the Net could not be brought back to life. As I am so pleased with my Lingting K17A I have decided. after watching another of your videos, to replace the tines on the duff one with Lingting tines. Hello everyone👋 I want you to know my opinion about K17A. I use K17A, I bought it from shopee for 1,500+ and I have been using it for almost 1 year, so far the sound is still beautiful, no dead tines, the seller was also a good person and the only thing I didn't like is the chain because my chain broke after a few hours while I was playing it, but the rest was good 👍 I also don't recommend this kalimba to a beginner (for my opinion)😅 this kalimba was my first kalimba, I didn't do any research I just watch the rating of it and bought it. I don't recommend this to beginners because the tines are high, you need to press it with more force, I broke my nails because of practicing and for beginners of course they will struggle on clicking the tines, this Kalimba's tines are so curve and hig.

Great review, Tip! :) I do have a question, though: What is this "tremolo chain"? I don't know if you Have used one in the other covers I've seen, so... Is it a handy feature or not really? What does it do?

The chain isn't really important. It's just the sprinkles that you put on a cupcake--not required or needed, but adding a tremelo chain to a certain song can change its vibe or make it sound peaceful. If you meant literally, the chain rattles against the tines whenever you pluck it. The rattling is caused by the tines' vibration and the rattling also produces soft echoes of the notes that you played :>

I've had a hollow body Gecko that I've been using for several years, and I've been happy with it. The only issue is that the end tines have a plinky, toy piano sound. So when I started seeing these LingTing 17A reviews, I ordered! It's the best available that's not super expensive.

Thank you for posting this! I’ve been doing some research on kalimbas, and this one sounds optimal so far. I like the fact that it has high resonance and is (supposedly) tuned to C major. (I know I can always change the tone if need be, but because I have never owned a kalimba before, I prefer not to tinker with it too much in the beginning.) BTW, I love your positivity! Got the Wind Whisperer Kalimba in the other day. Have fallen asleep half a dozen times playing this charmer. As for the thickness I have o issues with it, and find myself rocking the wood back and forth with my thumbs.

I watched a vid on how to play it. Thumbs on tines, forefingers forward on both sides and the other fingers underneath. The palms of the hand never touch the Kalimba. Hope that helps.

Wow this kalimba is so nice. The sound is "rich" and "full" wherein you hear each "flavors of the keys" thus releasing colorful sounds especially on the higher notes.Will buy new kalimba since i cant fix the "dead tines" :( . more power on your channel :)

I like the card with black and white photo, it's useless but something different, OK I will buy this and add it into my kalimba collections. yeah, just a theory, i think that is a authenticity card? not quite sure. woah!! it's cheaper in your country! (make sure they have the label on the bottom part of the front side to be sure that it is original :D

@@TipsKalimba yes, have that logo. It's cheaper here because Malaysia is one the biggest market share for Shopee in South East Asia, many shopaholics here plus there is no import tax for us if we buy from Shopee, so we just pay the item cost and shipping charges only.

I heard that because of your review they added the letter stickers but I may be new to the Kalimba but I know I bought the c tone but the letters were for B tones. Don’t make no sense to me. Why they would give you letters that don’t match up smh. Otherwise it sounded really nice. Feel a tad bit heavy for a newbie. Can’t wait to practice!!

Bago Lang po b tong lingting most post was just weeks or couple of months ago...I have hollow gecko ,looking between lingting or kimi or aklot bear. Lingting is so soft and mellow like kimi. Any recommendation thank you po

I love your channel so much !! But I have so many questions about kalimba because I want to buy one 💫 1 - I don't understand the flat and sharp notes . 2-what does mean the letter whith a point below or a point above ? And why some times the number of points differs when a kalimba player adjust the tuning , for example 2 with 2 points and D with 2 points = 2( with 2 points ) but B ( with 1 points or without any point ) or 1 without any point and C without any point = 1 (Ab ) with a point below . I don't understand what we should do at this time and why the position or the point number changes ? 3-I don't understand the different tuning of kalimba , like G major .....And how we know what is the tuning for each song ? I'm so sorry for all these questions and my bad English , but I'm so interested about kalimba 💕

love this video, and love you! very well said, and I'm so close to getting it. I am curious about one thing: how heavy is this LingTing? I read somewhere that it was 480g (2.46lbs) and that seems a bit heavy for a hand instrument. Does it feel heavy to you? My other alternative kalimba is a Kimi (it weights 1.95lbs). I love the sound of the LingTing more, but the weight seems like it might be an issues, especially given the curve of the edge that you mention
