Thank you for such a wonderful video . This might sound stupid but article partifi is used in front of a noun that is uncounted . What is uncounted noun in french ? ?
@lingoniFRENCH4 жыл бұрын
It's never stupid! thanks for your question, We consider that a noun is Non-comptable when it is something like FLOUR, SAND, WATER for example... you can say a glass of wáter or two bottles of water but not three waters, or four sands, but four grains od sands would work… also when you speak about concepts such as LOVE, HATE, you can quantify these feelings /concepts but you cannot really count them. I have a lot of love for you is fine, but I have 5 loves for you is not something you would say. Same in French. Hope that helped a bit!

Bonjour Kelly and many thanks for your kind comment and for the little remark on “vocals, vowels”. You are absolutely right and I corrected this in the future videos at some point :D haha, thanks to a student comment like yours ! He nailed it telling me I was getting mixed with the Spanish term “vocal/vocales” but that in English it did not work at all ! much closer to the French pronunciation actually Vowel/ “voyelle” ! Thanks again for this useful comment and happy you liked the content anyways :) cheers and take care

The certified course in French will deliver a certificate called DELF at the end of the course. It is the official qualification for French learners recognized worldwide. It exists for all level from beginners to bilingual (A1 to C2). It is possible to prepare these exams online or in class through a course. Our app lingoni.com would also deliver a certificate at the end of each level, it is just not an official diploma. Hope I could help you a bit.

so when you say "au début du film" its because "le film" is something that cant be counted? or is this a whole new topic? madam?
@Nicky3559 ай бұрын
"DU" is used before a masculine noun: C’est le chien du voisin. If the noun is feminine, we put "DE LA" : C’est le chien de la voisine. If the noun is in the plural, we put “DES” : C’est le chien des voisins. And when the name starts with a vowel, "DU" becomes "DE L'". C’est le chien de l’homme en rouge.
@Oscar-vr1lg5 жыл бұрын
Hi! Why do you say "du yoga", if "yoga" is masculine and starts with vowel? Why don't you say "de l'yoga"?
@lingoniFRENCH5 жыл бұрын
Hi Vadim, we say "du yoga" instead of "de le yoga" or "de l'yoga" because it's an "article partitif" like "du café" or "du lait" for example. "du" is a partial article because it can be replaced by "un peu de". For example: - Je bois du café. (Je bois un peu de café ==> article partitif.) - Je suis revenu du voyage. (Je suis revenu "de le" voyage ==> article défini contracté.)
@helenemasour92563 жыл бұрын
Merci! Au moins vous ne dites pas comme le reste de ces vidéos que DES est un article partitif!!! Pourquoi on le dit partout? Merci
@NudgeTM4 жыл бұрын
You didn't talk about use of 'des'. Did you miss it out, or is it covered under a different class.
@lingoniFRENCH4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Again and as always an excellent remark. I decided to focus on the use of partitive articles with uncountable nouns, so by definition the one that can't accept a plural form. But actually, DES can be both an article indéfini or an article partitif, but also an article défini contracté (de+les) and derserves indeed a full lesson for itself, to avoid confusion and differenciate them properly. I should publish it soon! ;)
