That's wild. I'd say close to 99% of the jokes didn't land for me. We're talking the commentary, donation comments, and unusual chants from the crowd. This type of humor reminds me of when someone gets wasted and keeps talking. I guess there's a reason why famous funny TV shows, stand up routines, movies, etc. aren't just a collection of varied puns, sarcasm, impressions without thought into what is said with the voice, non-sequiturs, chanted memes, and yelling. TBH, a truly funny moment usually isn't forced and takes some great experience to do well. There were a few comments from the crowd that played off the nonstop attempted jokes that were funny though.

This was quite different than any commentary experience I've ever had at a GDQ event. I had a blast on the couch with Kelpsey, Patty, Ivan, and Andy. I see some complaints about the style of the commentary. I'm not sure what people expected from commentary with 5 microphones. Talking about the minutiae of randomizer would have been boring honestly. We touched on the big points of what the combo randomizer is, what's different, and what to look out for. I'm not about covering room by room in randomizer, but more telling the story. Had this been a race, the commentary would have had a much different feel. I thought the run/commentary/hosting was fantastic all around.

Two years later and I'm watching this run for the first time and DYING at the commentary. Idk what people expect, but this was one of the most epic couches of all time. I watch/listen to a lot of GDQ when I work and this is probably the best and most entertaining.

I know I'm over 2 years late to the party, but I somehow missed this at the time and only just found the video today. I'm an hour in and positively busting a gut. The Elmo impression (and entire Sesame Street bit) was hilarious. This is just a ton of fun to watch and I'm just sorry I missed seeing it live. 2 million dollars, ah ah ah!

Fantastic couch and fantastic commentary. Any time Patty is on the couch you know you're in for a ride of a lifetime. I feel bad for Andy more than halfway through; you could tell he wasn't feeling well. He still pulled through, though! Both runners did fantastic and I hope for future rando runs to get into GDQ!

I always love SMZ3 rando, I super-duper love Andy and Ivan ... but the real winner here is probably Patty. Between "The Count" counting (ah, ah, ah!) that continued all the way to the Chrono Trigger finale, and then the beautiful rendition of Seal's "Kiss From a Rose" -- yeah. That was probably the most entertaining part of all of GDQ. Ever. Kiss From a Rose starts at 1:28:32
