No joke, I've literally heard a manager in upper management say something along these lines before: "We want to be assured that our employees would be happy to work and provide for both their company's prosperity and their employer's comfort and lifestyle even if they haven't received pay in months or even years time. Sometimes we may even count on your own money to pay for some of the company's costs and mandatory training. It just means we can depend on you to be a subservient slav - I mean a dedicated, good-natured and hard working employee who's valuable to the company. We also don't like hearing employees unnecessarily complain about being mistreated, especially when the mistreatment is being done on low levels, or low levels as perceived by the company. We also value our employees mental and physical well being, that way they can still provide for us at their optimal level." Look, there is some truth that employees should be ready to resiliently and professionally handle some things, as well as prioritize some things in their workplace, especially when its a job working with the public or some sort of client, but to be treated or viewed as a near slave or even mildly abused shouldn't be the standard work life.

LinkedIn is a goddamn hellhole when it comes to fake positivity. Everyone is trying to boast about "oh, I attended this awesome seminar", "I got to participate in this cool nation-wide project", "I enjoyed my time at company X, but immediately got hired at company Y, while rejecting company Z because it didn't fit my standards" or even worse "I will take a small break and figure out what kind of job I want next". I'm jobless and actively applying for jobs, and I get mentally nauseous whenever I briefly have to log on just to provide my profile url for the next job search I do. People are so pretentious. Not to get radical on a George Memeulous video but to get radical on a George Memeulous video. Balance in all things; a lot of work will always need doing for a society to prosper and provide for its citizens. But yeah. Our current society provides way too much for a select few of its citizens, with no particular correlation to actual merit or effort involved in their work or anything. In fact, the most privileged tend to do the least work. They just sit, and own, and collect the fruits of others' efforts. This is not a working economy, this is banditry in a metaphorical silk gown - or in the Emperor's New Clothes, that we are only just beginning to gather the courage to admit are just not there. I’m really stuck on the fact they repeated 0.8 miles a couple times as if that’s the longest walk they’ve ever been on 😭 Edit: where I live in Canada when it gets cold it gets COLD, like in the negatives

that woman in the private plane got caught out for faking it from her Instagram,, she actually hired a fake private plane for one hour that was in a hangar to take her Instagram photos, you can see it is in a hangar if you zoom in and look through the windows, there are also no pilots in the cockpit. you can see the bad paint job on the step up to the cockpit, the thrust levers are in the ground idle position, so it is not in the air, the panel above the pilots is missing lots of switches that would normally be there.

U will never convince me to work longer hours if you arent guaranteeing me the salary. A suggestion that in the long run i’ll be richer for giving 50% extra without a direct paycheck, is absolutely ridiculous. Dont give in guys. Work what u have to, then go home and have fun, enjoy your life.
