The amount of people (men mainly) that use coercion to get their spouses to sleep with them is disgusting. They think it’s okay because their spouse apparently “owes” them and that coercion still means they’re willing and that it’s not assault. Yuck. A lot of them are lazy people who do not assist with household chores, cooking, mental and emotional load and child rearing duties so their spouse is shattered from doing that 24/7. Then they wonder why they don’t have energy or want to sleep with them.

$14k is entirely normal pretty much anywhere in East Coast cities - for fairly average properties. UK council tax (property tax) is an absolute bargain in comparison especially if you're super wealthy and live in a multimillion pound house.

I have a feeling all these "buy a company NOW" and "be a creator not a consumer" people forget that if their advice was actually followed and EVERYONE were a creator instead of a consumer, there'd be no one to work for/with them, so no way for anyone to grow their business to an actual functional size. Plus, the amount of competition would be insane, while the lack of consumers would be way to big to keep most of the businesses afloat. But I'm aware that these so-called content creators just want to sell their own thing.

The thing about not wanting to shake hands with someone of the opposite sex in a professional setting is that the message you're sending basically is that you view all of your interactions with the opposite sex as sexual and/or romantic in nature. That is definitely something that is inappropriate in a professional context. You're putting the person in front not in the role of a business partner but in the role of a potential sexual/romantic interest. That's why people are not okay with that

Many people who are self-employed in the UK pay themselves the minimum wage and take the rest as dividends which are taxed much lower than income tax, which explains consistently low income tax. Also, Companies House doesn’t have information about income tax, so it’s not clear what data you are referring to.

A lawsuit? Haha, no. Unless he's discriminating in provision of goods or services then it's not illegal. It's not illegal to refuse to a shake a person's hand - which is almost meaningless. It's common in some cultures for men to refuse to touch women whom they aren't related to. "How can female employees trust that he will give them the same opportunities that he’s giving the male employees?" Then they would need to evidence that he is treating them unfairly compared to men. You can't sue someone based on conjecture ("he won't shake my hand... therefore he will inevitably discriminate against me!")

What the 10 million dollar guy is failing to take into account is that nobody who hasn't won like 100 million in the lottery or isn't a successful bank robber ever retires on one lump sum that they can spend for the rest of their days. People make investments, pay into pension plans, etc. For example, my grandfather was a very wealthy retired man, and lived a very comfortable life of luxury cruises, golf club dinners, a very nice house in one of the most affluent areas of the UK, etc. But he was able to support that lifestyle thanks to his large pension, stock market investments, consulting work, etc- he didn't just retire at 65, and then have no form of income for the rest of his life. So yeah, man's not wrong, it just seems like he's crying about a pretty self-evident fact of life. Also who the fuck wants to retire to New York?! I've never been myself but everyone I know who has universally agrees that it's insanely overpriced, the people are horrible, it's freezing in the winter and stinks in the summer. Get a house in a cheaper area, my friend...

The property tax is different though - it's like an annual stamp duty - the council tax is on top! The irony I always think is that Americans think that we all pay loads of taxes - but they pay way more in all their "charges" (health insurance, HoAs, school costs etc etc) than we do! 😆
