'favourite' is British English whilst 'favorite' is American English. It was really expensive to print words on a page in the US at the time, so they essentially simplified English spellings to save money. So 'spiralled' became 'spiraled', 'colour' became 'color', 'maneouvre' became 'maneuver', 'anaemia' became 'anemia' etc etc. Americans also wanted to move away from Britain and Anglicise French words so 'licence' in British English became 'license', 'metre' became 'meter', 'sceptic' became 'skeptic' and 'tyre' became 'tire'. Funnily enough, they made some words longer, so 'skilful' became 'skillfull' and 'enrolment' became 'enrollment'.

Everyone lives there, they have a gym a huge mess hall, etc... my son was doing 2 weeks on and 1 off. so 14 days of 12 hour shifts, then flown home and a week off. really good $$$
