on the recruiters topic: 1) a lot of recruiters tend to have the attitude of "who cares how much the job pays? you should just be passionate and feel lucky to be approached about it" 2) recruiters are essentially in the field of human resources (and hr will just suck off the company) so to then have such a horrid lack of understanding of racism (from that analogy they used) is downright scary

@annakilifa331
@annakilifa331 Жыл бұрын
Money doesn't buy happiness, but lack of money greatly contributes to unhappiness. If you have a lot of money, you can still be very unhappy about a lot of other things, but if you don't have money, your lack of money will be one of the things that makes you unhappy. Money can certainly take away some of the stress that you would have if you didn't have money. If the main reason for your unhappiness is lack of money then money can make you a lot happier. But it doesn't necessarily make all of your problems disappear and you can still be unhappy, no matter how much money you have.

I’m pretty sure 5 of those work hours out of a 40 hour week is a lunch break. It’s literally a break for you to eat your lunch and do what you need to do. It’s not stolen time, it’s time that you have to legally provide for your employees to make sure they don’t die.
@kamikeserpentail3778
@kamikeserpentail3778 Жыл бұрын
People go to work for 42.5 hours, because their 30 minute break is not counted as time they are paid for. But in the case that not spending 100% of my time at work actually working hard is equivalent to stealing... - I should just skip the middle man and steal directly, because apparently they can afford it. or - They should just lower work hours, because apparently the job can be done in less time. Happier employees do better work.

1:04 yup, as an individual who was born into a family who decided to sell thier business in order to live a family life as soon as I was born, I have lived a lower middle class life in Florida until my parents after nine years and giving me a little brother decided, why not live in Colorado? It seemed like an OK idea for me, but you could tell that I wasn't nearly as excited as everyone else was but even then, we packed our things, brought a friend and drove off with all of our things except for furniture (mind you, my parents at the time had two vehicles, we had to tow the second one with us). Once we arrived, things were OK until it became clear that my parents were lacking the knowledge of what it means to save money at the time because we ended up losing money at some point, I was still 10 years old so I don't remember much of what happened except for the constant moving around from place to place to stay for months at a time, I didnt remember staying in a home for longer than a school year because my parents had me when they were living in an apartment and when they had my Lil bro, we were in a bigger space (I think). This was until 2019, nonetheless, we were still moving around and I never learned why, I have assumptions, but now a days I don't care, I am right now trying to focus on myself. Anyways, we have moved from apartment to motel, from motel to hotel for only 3 nights, then to an apartment that we were able to stay at for a school year, then as summer comes we would go camping for the entire summer and sometimes even early autumns, sure, we did ask for help from family helping organizations but, apparently it wasn't enough for us to live off of. Anyways, the way we traveled over the years are quite interesting. It started off with my dad's Volkswagen with my mom's Volvo but because we had to sell the cars, we didn't have transportation for a while, the last time I remember us having a vehicle, was when my dad got a red Chevy city truck with a serious engine. I don't remember what kind it was but, that little truck last us through years of travel and serious carry weight. That little thing can carry a vehicle the size of the mystery machine with years of storage inside up steep hills and would carry a small trailer again with a lot of shit inside for miles on end. I remember little red more than any other vehicle that we've had over the course of my life. We ended up selling the truck to someone only because none of us had any money to do repairs on it. Whenever I was sixteen, I wanted to start working but because the town that I was in didn't really accept minors working for wages, I was only able to volunteer at a library before we had to move just in the next year, in the mist of all this chaos, I was able to make friends and even a boyfriend in Middle school, even if I were to leave them all behind and even let go of him later on down the road, it never occurred to me that I would ever see them again. The only time that I have met someone after the first time before now was someone I hung out with in 4th grade, we re-met in Middle school but we didn't really hang out much then. She had her group and I was with mine so, it's whatever. We didn't have any ounce of a normal life until we got a place in Nederland. No not the Netherlands, Nederland, Co is a small mountain town theater is in a valley in between mountains. Because of this, Nederland is an extremely windy town in general and there isn't a lot you could do here other than going from karaoke nights to just simply drinking at your favorite bar all day long. At this time, I was 19 years old with no highschool credits, no drivers license (in Colorado, you can legally drive a car at the age of 16) so I am still scared of driving, I am not the most hygienic mofo, I just never saw a reason to take care of myself like that unless I am brushing my hair or sometimes brushing my teeth ( yes, I am that bad) I do take showers but I never understood the shower-tools that people use, the only things I would use from that section would be the puffy scrubby ball thingy, the sasquatch (sasquach??) bar of soap, and then rarely, if I want to treat myself, charcoal peel-off masks and CBD bath salts/bath bombs. Not to mention that the last two things were a recent thing, I ended up from that, to graduating in three years time, I now have experience working and is currently making pizza pies pretty much every morning, I don't plan on going to college, my main goal is to save up to a certain amount of money in order to not only keep up with the rent but to also provide myself with what I need. At my highschool, one of the few things I've learned about was how to go online and get myself an ID. I have set up my own appointment with some help of my advisor ( in that school, every student has an advisor they can rely on for food and advice) and had constantly reminded my parents everyday till the very morning of the appointment in order to get it done because I was just that determined. Just as I am now to make sure that I work hard and not spend a shit ton in order to continue living a normal life, because if I were to move out of my family nest, I want to be where I don't have to move out in a near future, I want to make sure that I can live easy while also keep up with everything around me in order to continue to live a normal life. You are prolly wondering what a normal life is for me is, and it is simply this cycle; wake up, work, play, sleep, repeat with little tweaks here and there, switch up my activities from time to time and maybe even get lucky with a guy/girl/any that would prolly wanna stay with me for a while, maybe even become a mom. At that point, I can be sure that I put money towards my child(ren)s separate bank account(s) so that way when they grow up, they will be able to pay for food and whatever else their needs or wants would be. At that point, they will have to learn that if they start working then, they will be able to continue using thier cards and be able to live as fruitfully as they please. Even though I won't be much of help if they drain their accounts right away, I can only hope that they would learn how to save their money from me.

I remember being in college and being told to make a linked-in account and I did. And it served me no purpose and I quickly started to realize how full of shit everyone on there was. Do you know how much resume and interview advice I've recieved that basically amounted to "you've got to lie, I mean embellish" Fuck that. I choose violence, and least that's honest. But I'm patient enough to wait for the right moment.

Fun story, I once got a editing job offer by a company in Shenghi, China, USA. I had to turn it down, I didn't have to funds to move as it was a on sight job. And yes, Shanghai was actually horribly misspelled.

I have a LinkedIn account I barely touch. Funniest/most cringey thing I ever saw on there was someone claiming to be a marketing professional straight-up whinging about how nobody wanted to hire them despite their amazing skills. Like sure bro, those the same skills that make you think it's a good idea to ask for a job on social media by complaining?

I hate recruiters because they’ll harass you then if you actually apply they completely ghost you, have lied about the actual job, or turn around and say “oh sorry you’re not qualified for this position” like you have my resume, you know my major and experience, your job describes something I’m actually qualified for, what the fuck??
