The good news about the 3DS thing is that the old console repair industry is absolutely thriving, so they could most likely find someone who could assess the damage and possibly fix it. From the looks of it, it's likely easily fixable because the screen isn't cracked and the stuff that connects the top and bottom of the 3DS are mostly just a few wires and actually disconnect fairly easily. You can even get a replacement shell for the broken hinges. I uh, may or may not have done this exact same thing but to my regular DS when I was a kid. I no longer allow my hubris to make me think "yeah, I could hold my lunch, drink, and DS in my hands over hardwood floor". Also, I have almost every single game I owned as a kid, including several of the OG Pokemon and Zelda games for the Gameboy Color and Advanced (guaranteed originals since we got them Ron's ago). Plus I still have my original DS, SP, and 3DS. I wonder what they'll be worth in 20 years...

Side note: my grandma once worked in a Nintendo store (back when they existed) and she has a super Nintendo plus she gave us an OG Nintendo Entertainment System that we played mercilessly until we were fully grown. We even had both the Zelda games for that console - one was shiny gold). She also had a few of the OG Nintendo Power magazines, which were wild to see as a kid.

I got new glasses recently, originally I was going to go with aviator style glasses since I always thought those looked neat but every pair I tried on made me look like a pedo (probably would have looked fine outside once transition lenses kicked in but I'm mostly indoors). Hey, Kwite, if you want to live in a semi disaster prone area try the BC/Washington State area, we have windstorms for most of the year and they make roads CHAOTIC. Power goes out, trees fall into roads etc and it's normal to just go "yeah I can't get to work, a tree is across my way out of my house." In one case, I was legit late to the dentist's appointment during a windstorm because our garage door was electric-lift and our power was out. We couldn't get it open. They understood completely and didn't fine me a late fee or anything. Also, schools often let out if the power is out at some schools as they may not have boilers/radiators but rather electric heat, so kids will be asked to bundle up, but if it's also snowing or it's really cold, you get to go home. It's like a snow day but for how wild the wind can get. We once had a power outage so bad I missed a week off school as a kid in the 00s just because of wind and rain.

That TV one was literally my uncle one time, their TV went out finally and had to get a new one. They got it home, I unboxed it for him, flipped it over and got the legs on just fine. Cat darts through the house and smashes into the side of the TV at 400 mph, and then darts back outside. I was very worried for the TV, but got it plugged in. It worked 😃, and then my uncle woke up my aunt to get her to sit down in her chair and adjust the TV and it's settings while I was still there to move it and work it. She stumbled, caught herself on the TV stand. And knocked the brand new TV off flat onto the floor, breaking the screen without even damaging the thin plastic trim 💀
