Last year my brother took his own life. We knew he had some issues with anxiety and depression, that he had chronic insomnia, but we never expected it. Even his wife, son, and daughter, who were more aware of how bad his anxiety and depression was, did not see it coming. Somehow, in some way, he decided that the world would be better without him in it. He was wrong. He is so missed, and was so important to all of his family and we are still all heartbroken. I struggle with depression myself so I can understand why he may have thought that. Anyone out their struggling with depression, if you get those same thoughts, that your family, friends and others would be better off without you, please don't allow that thought to take over, and get help please. Because, ultimately, the world is better with YOU in it.

Don't ever apologise for being human! I have been in the fan base almost since you started your channel and the reason why I am still here is because of your honesty when reacting which includes showing your emotions, happy and sad, and your open, forthright opinions unlike many other reactors I have visited briefly who gush about everything regardless.

Before watching: I cry my entire face off every time I watch this. I'm sure today will be no different. 💔 During: Back in the day, I used to sing this w/ my BFF, and I took the harmonies- first time I watched this, I was shocked to hear Chris sing the exact same notes. After: I get it, man. I love Chester but Chris was IT for me, and he passed months after I lost my partner and my second mother/mentor. I had been listening to Chris to help me cope and when he left us, I was shattered.

Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your reaction to this moving performance that is heartbreaking in retrospect. It breaks me when Chris comes on stage and goes to Chester, and sings "Against my wish I stand beside my own reflection". It's so hard for me to hear that line, considering how many struggles these two men had in common, and how similarly they passed away. Chester's death hit a lot of Linkin Park fans hard, because people looked up to him as an inspiration for surviving mental illness and substance abuse. Maybe Chester looked up to Chris in a somewhat similar way, with Chris being a close older friend having dealt with similar issues. If someone you look up to as a survivor loses their fight, what does that mean for your chances, your hope for survival? Regardless of exactly what happened, seeing them together is hard, but I'm so glad we were blessed with seeing these two greats performing together.

David, I think a lot of us are with you and share similar feelings when we see this performance. What these two angels brought to the stage together is nothing less than magical. And to know that both of them are no longer with us and that their voices will never be heard again is hard to believe for me even now, years later. Since voices are one of the first things to be forgotten, I am so glad that we have the possibility to recall such moments whenever we want nowadays. 🙏🏻 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 「 'Our rock never dies ever. Hey David, good to hear you made it on the other side in your battle with depression, wish Chris and Chester had too ☹️. I didn't listen to much off Chris's music when he was alive, but I came to appreciate his voice after his passing. Chester's passing was like a gut punch, like you I think Linkin Park's best stuff was earlier in their career though I disagree with you that they jumped the shark after Hybrid, I think they jumped after Meteora which was still raw and edgy in my opinion. Minutes to Midnight was the fall for me (with the exception of the song Given Up), I was "done" with them after that. ironically, I made peace with Linkin Park a month to the day before Chester passed, I went to Vegas and specifically went to the tattoo/piercing club that he co-owned get work done because even though I wasn't into their sound for years, I still thought they were one of the best rock bands of all times..then Chester died. RIP Chris and Chester.

Echoing others here re: being emotional about music with a really meaningful message / impact - it's something to celebrate not apologise for. I've recently been on a kick of rediscovering music that moved me back in my university days, which is how I wound up here today. I've struggled with depression and ptsd basically all of my life, and finally started trauma therapy in my 40s. People having emotional reactions to music that speaks the dark places you've found yourself makes you feel so much less alone. Starting the process of getting help is so hard because pushing the pain down and ignoring seems easier, but getting over that hump is so fucking worth it.

In terms of performance I thought it was fine and everyone did their jobs properly, though I would've liked to hear Chris's voice more clearly than I did, and I also struggled to make out most of the rapper's words at the beginning as well. I realize that's a big ask considering how the video was recorded but still. Do I think it was 9 worthy? No. 6 or 7? Yes.

"Depression" is what happens when you run away from yourself; when you forget you're pretending, and believe the lies you tell yourself about yourself. The depressed person is psychically locked up, emotionally frozen by his repressive response to what he knows to be true. His habit of ignoring important elements of his inner world has damned the flow of internal energy. "Depression" teaches "courage".
