They were literally on top of the world until they changed their style and no one cared anymore. On Spotify, In The End has double the listens than all of the songs combined on One More Light, and the song came out a decade before Spotify even existed. You don't seem to understand the scale of what they were in the early 2000's. Not one song on their top 10 came out after 2007.

You know for something they threw together on the fly it actually sounded pretty good. Give it few more tweaks here and there and you got yourself a heavy version of this song that actually ended up sounding pretty cool. Their skills were so good that even though they were just messing around it still sounded good. Imagine what it could sound like if they got serious with changing it up like this.

I had always hoped they would return to it one more time at least. I mean why not? Now I understand the need as an artist to grow and experiment but like…I don’t know what would’ve been the harm in at least making a couple of tracks with that big nu metal sound on it? Oh well. I don't think a majority realize how the band were mocking their haters in this. It's pure gold. Imagine being the biggest nu metal band of all freaking time. Only to change your sound because that's what your heart desires. And people HATE that, give you so much backlash and complain over a simple freaking genre switch. It' s still A GOOD SONG. So, they drop ''Heavy'', as poppy as it is, then troll the haters with a nu metal version right afterwards.
