2:18 was my hypothesis as to why I had auditory hallucinations of music and sound effects while playing some video games with the sound off. I experienced both stimuli at the same time so many times that when receiving just the visual, my brain would also experience the audio, even though it wasn't physically present. In this case, instead of recollection of an idea, it was an auditory experience. When we experience stuff at the same time or in sequence with one another, they get wired together. Great explanation for some other shitty and not great aspects of the way my brain functions that I've observed...

Why were the tangible holograms so tiny?
@LawffleCopter9 жыл бұрын
***** They're so small because the lasers that are producing them are ionizing the air it's shooting, effectively making it into plasma. The laser is shooting the entire image very quickly, and each burst is on the scale of femtoseconds so the size of the hologram must be very small or the image becomes just a series of connect the dot points. Because it's plasma, essentially, touching it is described as rubbing your finger across very rough sandpaper, or a small electric shock.
@accursedblackmage9 жыл бұрын
***** because of the way they are generated, using femtosecond (super fast) laser pulses, that is their maximum size for now.
@NonExistingName9 жыл бұрын
***** It's also small because if it were bigger, it would both be very dangerous and consume too much energy.

Woah, woah, woah... So we now have transparent aluminum? Chock up one more Star Trek invention that came real.
@vakusdrake32249 жыл бұрын
***** Transparent aluminum has actually been around for a while and it is literally made of aluminum, thus making the name accurate.
@vakusdrake32249 жыл бұрын
***** I understood the implications of what I was saying, and I stand by the statements that the material is both transparent aluminum (in visible wavelengths) as well as very durable oxygen.
@vakusdrake32249 жыл бұрын
***** First off when I said transparent in the visible spectrum, I meant in other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum it would be opaque, for instance aluminium oxynitride is probably opaque to ultraviolet light just like normal glass. I understand that my usage of literally doesn't seem to make much sense, however I still stand by it being technically correct. By the way I would agree that humans are opaque water, plus some other things of course.

It's weird that we haven't thought of air-less tire wheels before. That's the perk of a longboard over a bike. You don't have to constantly pump air into the wheels and worry about it popping.
@tavsultra94589 жыл бұрын
But you can't go as fast as a bike, plus you're basically sitting down on a bike so you won't get tired fast.
@Immajeanyus9 жыл бұрын
LORD TAVISH True. The wheels is just one thing better than a bike. I just don't know why air-less tires haven't already been looked more into at this point in time.
@biasedgamer96319 жыл бұрын
Immajeanyus they have been for years. There are solid rubber bike tires you can use. The catch for bikes is that bumps will hurt more thanks to the air pocket being gone to absorb the energy of bumps. As for cars, its been a concept for a long time. But there are issues with durability, and many large car companies also like to buy pattons and hold out on them. This way they make more money on things like, standard tires which break down faster, and therefore require replacement more frequently. Same thing with electric cars. Large companies could break out fully electric cars if they wanted to, but there isn't as much money in it as a standard combustion car. So they buy up rights to these technologies and just horde them.
@timwhite87809 жыл бұрын
Immajeanyus I've had my bike (and the same tires) for ten years, and needed to pump my tires once or twice per year at most. I've never had a tire pop either, and I do a lot of mountain biking. Unless you get your tires from a dumpster, you probably won't have trouble with them
@WhatIsSanity9 жыл бұрын
