@joshual10217 жыл бұрын
Why do you think he was an alcoholic? You obviously don't know shit about depression or being a manic depressive person. You can hear it in his music how he felt. Have you ever seen the video for Breaking the Habit? He fucking kills himself in the video. Weakness? No shit. He's lived this long with it. It only takes that one moment of being at the bottom to do it. That's what's tragic about depression.

I'm listening to Linkin Park tonight, on the one year anniversary of losing my son. He was 34 last year, and he left us nearly the same way as Chester did. He was so incredibly successful in all aspects of his life, but he was never able to shake the ideation that some people struggle with. I remember when I heard about Chester, and I fell to my knees in tears, because I knew there were so many similarities between the two. Success doesn't change the self-talk in your head that makes you feel that you and the world would be better off if you were gone. It doesn't calm whatever raw pain you're dealing with. If you're dealing with ideation, please seek help. If you don't feel understood by your MH professional, find another one that gets you. Sadly, Bennett felt he couldn't seek help, because he had to maintain his top secret security clearance. He'd seen others sidelined because of seeking help or needing meds. The shock of a death like his in the military intelligence community may spur some changes. I hope it does. Six months ago, I couldn't even listen to Linkin Park, because it was his all-time favorite band. Today, with lots of help from my MH team at the VA, it gives me so much comfort... feeling close to him. It helps me to talk about him, too. To Chester and Bennett, you're gone but still so loved and remembered. 💔

Lyrics: I don't know who to trust, no surprise Everyone feels so far away from me Heavy thoughts sift through dust and the lies Trying not to break, but I'm so tired of this deceit Every time I try to make myself get back up on my feet All I ever think about is this All the tiring time between And how trying to put my trust in you Just takes so much out of me Take everything from the inside And throw it all away 'Cause I swear for the last time I won't trust myself with you Tension is building inside, steadily Everyone feels so far away from me Heavy thoughts forcing their way out of me Trying not to break, but I'm so tired of this deceit Every time I try to make myself get back up on my feet All I ever think about is this All the tiring time between And how trying to put my trust in you Just takes so much out of me Take everything from the inside And throw it all away 'Cause I swear for the last time I won't trust myself with you I won't waste myself on you You You Waste myself on you You You I'll take everything from the inside And throw it all away 'Cause I swear for the last time I won't trust myself with you Everything from the inside And just throw it all away 'Cause I swear for the last time I won't trust myself with you You You

Here I can talk about topics I like and get new information. If I tell my friends in my village something about LP, everybody rolls with his eyes, can't understand me or isn't into the topic. P.S.: I'm German... 😊

Linkin park was my English teacher, I was used to download the lyrics of these amazing songs. That was 17 years ago. Now I listen to this song and I realize that I leave inside me the same feeling I had when I was 15. True art stays. These songs weren't made just for the sake of money or for fame. These songs were real. Chester's screaming was real. I wasn't surprised when he committed suicide. You gotta get tortured if you wanna be a real artist.
