I live in Prescott AZ, born and raised and Chester’s parents live up here too. I used to work at our local Best Buy and his parents would come in and buy all his CD’s (Leaving a few copies for others of course) to support his son. They gave out his albums to people for free. They made it clear they buy his albums in secret because Chester only wanted to give back to his parents, but they wanted to support him no matter what. 😢

This song actually shows what a lot of other artists don't have. That emotion in his voice comes across so strong. There are so many artists that may have a great voice, but when singing an emotional song they can't carry the emotion to the listener. Chester was able to do that like no one else I've ever heard. Was just going through some Linkin Park songs and I'm not ashamed to say this one actually brought a tear to my eye.

My unpopular opinion: this performance is why I don't mind and even embrace the One More Light Album with joy. I love Chester's voice no matter what he sings, energetic or slow songs, I just love his voice when he sings. This cover was so simple yet so beautiful and full of power and only has been decided to be done backstage minutes before LP hit the stage. DrMedSteht all the money and therapy in the world cannot solve some people's problems. Depression is real. Add addiction and it's a toxic mix. Nobody knows what he was going through but him. His wife and children are very much victims. Just because you've got the mental stability to live day to day, doesn't mean everyone else does.
@karibikfan917 жыл бұрын
Never felt what a depression feels like? This is very ambivalent. There is no right or wrong. Some souls are injured in a way they can never heal. It depends on what happened in his past and childhood. You can't heal a broken soul like a broken leg. And nobody knows what he felt and how he looked inside. Of cours it's a massive lost for his family, but I'm sure they know, what emotional pain he suffered every day. Life isn't that simple. Be a little bit more gentle with somebody, who have a mental illness.

There aren't very many artists that you can almost feel their voice moving through your body but Chester is one of them. It's hard to explain but if you can feel it you know what I'm talking about. Your blood flows a different way, your mind opens up and your body vibrates with every note. Their voice intangles your mind, body and soul in a way that you feel directly connected with the person you're listening to. It's a phenomenon that only a handful of artists throughout history could achieve and chester is one of them. He brought so many of us into the light by pushing himself further into darkness. I was getting ready point out some other band or artist that does this but... you know what? Gunjan is right. I don't think we'll ever get a Nu-Metal plus all of those genre coming ever again. In the mainstream, Twenty one pilots is that too but instead of Nu-Metal or any metal at all, it's "post-emo or emo influenced" plus all those others, but perhaps more pop as the main genre with their 2015 album. Perhaps there are obscure bands out there are trying it but we may never have a phenomenon like Linkin Park in this specific fusion ever again. If anyone got any more huge range of fusion, even indie or stuff I'm sure there's a lot under the surface there, please share it. I love me indie garage/psych/blues rock or synthpop/electronica, but I'll always come back to LP for that specific diverse sound. I was never a huge fan of Nu-Metal, I enjoyed some of the top tracks of others, but LP hit that sweet spot in combing genres. And later in other albums, they pushed their diverse sound even more which I loved the most with this band.

Whats spellbounding is that Adele sang this pitch perfect with exact emotions (as it was her story and she felt it). Chester in some parts made better emotional connection to the lyrics with his singing - which is so unreal! My people, this is what a gifted artist looks like. True true talent.

LYRICS There's a fire starting in my heart Reaching a fever pitch, it's bringing me out the dark Finally I can see you crystal clear Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your ship bare See how I'll leave with every piece of you Don't underestimate the things that I will do There's a fire starting in my heart Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark The scars of your love remind me of us They keep me thinking that we almost had it all The scars of your love they leave me breathless I can't help feeling We could've had it all (you're gonna wish you) (Never had met me) Rolling in the deep (tears are gonna fall) (Rolling in the deep) You had my heart inside (you're gonna wish you) Of your hands (never had met me) And you played it (tears are gonna fall) To the beat (rolling in the deep) Baby, I have no story to be told But I've heard one on you, now I'm gonna make your head burn Think of me in the depths of your despair Make a home down there, as mine sure won't be shared The scars of your love (never had met me) Remind me of us (tears are gonna fall) They keep me thinking (rolling in the deep) That we almost had it all (you're gonna wish you) The scars of your love (never had met me) They leave me breathless (tears are gonna fall) I can't help feeling (rolling in the deep) We could've had it all (you're gonna wish you) (Never had met me) Rolling in the deep (tears are gonna fall) (Rolling in the deep) You had my heart inside (you're gonna wish you) Of your hands (never had met me) And you played it (tears are gonna fall) To the beat (rolling in the deep) We could've had it all Rolling in the deep You had my heart inside of your hand But you played it with a beating Throw your soul through every open door (whoa) Count your blessings to find what you look for (whoa) Turn my sorrow into treasured gold (whoa) You pay me back in kind and reap just what you've sown We could've had it all (tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep) We could've had it all (you're gonna wish you never had met me) It all, it all, it all (tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep) We could've had it all (you're gonna wish you) (Never had met me) Rolling in the deep (tears are gonna fall) (Rolling in the deep) You had my heart inside (you're gonna wish you) Of your hands (never had met me) And you played it (tears are gonna fall) To the beat (rolling in the deep) Could've had it all (you're gonna wish you) (Never had met me) Rolling in the deep (tears are gonna fall) (Rolling in the deep) You had my heart inside (you're gonna wish you) Of your hands (never had met me) But you played it, you played it, you played it You played it to the beat
