This is the one. This takes me back to my 13 year old self in 2003 with my Meteora CD spinning in a handheld player with headphones turned so loud it hurt staring at the ceiling. I'd continue listening to Meteora and Hybrid Theory well after my teens, I grew up with those songs from Linkin Park and understanding the words and passion in their music more and more as I grew. The impact they had on my life, and reading the countless comments under this video in so many languages show how powerful their music was and transcended not only language but culture. IMO there are thousands and thousands of really awesome bands out there, including many that make music on the level and similar in nature to LP. But _the ways_ music is predominantly published and consumed today, doesn't lend itself to discovering new bands/artists, songs and genres, with anywhere remotely close to the organic ease which we have been sold and might imagine from quick first impressions. And honestly a lot of that which _might_ be a good fit for your taste, is drowned out so much else. It's certainly out there. But you often need to go actively looking for it, as more often than not the algorithm of your tastes and preferences seem to severely mislabel them.

When I feel low I listen to One More Light and remember he'd like us to live. I know that when he says he cares he means it because he knows what it's like. "And you're angry, and you should be, it isn't fair" gets me every time. "Lost" is perfect for the rough times I went through, but Chester and LP will lead the war against depression for all time. I regret not telling him myself how special he is, but I know hundreds others did. To me he never died. I feel bad for the fans that live knowing it.

"Fighting myself, I always lose" - if we had all only known what those lyrics actually meant to Chester. "I can't breathe, I need to break free, From the anger that is constantly inside of me" We are all saddened yet relieved that you are now free Chester. RIP and thank you for sharing with us another great piece of music.

Feels so unbelievable, a song that was recorded 20 years ago is being released now and it almost feels like a new single and an upcoming album is on the way yet it is not. Only if in an alternative universe this was released back then - would have been a classic evergreen song now yet it will be in about 20 odd years. The thoughts I'm having are pretty difficult to describe right now. What a banger of a song! Chester then, now, forever :)

LYRICS [Mike Shinoda:] Now, sometimes these thoughts in my head speak so loud Every little thing that I think about just built on top of the pain and doubt Even though I wanna just let it out, I Try to act like I don't mind it, try to keep my mouth so quiet But sittin' there in my silence, just seems to amplify it When I thought that keepin' this inside would make it better I never thought that I would end up ruining it forever But every time I think, I got everything put back together I end up making more regrets, making more regrets [Chester Bennington:] Falling from grace, I watch it all come apart Knowing I could've changed it all from the start Fighting myself, I always lose Fighting myself, I always lose [Mike Shinoda:] I didn't want you to think I'm worn out so easily I wish I'd held it in, so you never knew what built up inside of me Now, I don't know how it overflows, spill out unwillingly But now, everything that I learned to hate came out for you to see I don't want you to promise you can change everything and make it better 'Cause you can bet, I'm gonna end up ruining it forever And every time you think, you got everything put back together I end up making more regrets, making more regrets [Chester Bennington:] Falling from grace, I watch it all come apart Knowing I could've changed it all from the start Fighting myself, I always lose Fighting myself, I always lose Falling from grace, I watch it all come apart Knowing I could've changed it all from the start Fighting myself, I always lose Fighting myself, I always lose I can't run with this weight on my back I can't see 'cause I'm focused on the past I can't breathe, I need to break free From the anger that is constantly inside of me I can't run with this weight on my back I can't see 'cause I'm focused on the past I can't breathe, I need to break free From the anger that is constantly inside of me Falling from grace, I watch it all come apart Knowing I could've changed it all from the start I can't breathe, I need to break free From the anger that is constantly inside of me Falling from grace, I watch it all come apart Knowing I could've changed it all from the start I can't breathe, I need to break free From the anger that is constantly inside of me.

I never was a huge Linkin Park fan, also havent been since Chester left us. Only listened to the same few songs over the years. But since I heard the new song of the new Band, "The Emptiness Machine", I pay more attention to the lyrics and I realized, I identify myself with the songs, it feels like Chester was talking to us via the lyrics. Or not even talking to us but he just emptied his mind into the songs. It feels like he is telling us a story. A story which ended tragically. For us. For him it was a relief. Fight yourself, people! Dont let your demons win the upper hand! Be blessed.

Unreal that a song recorded 20 years ago “that didn’t make the cut” is better than any song released currently. What a special gift this band has. The bridge leading into the final chorus with the added harmony is absolutely transcendental. They were masters at making the 3rd chorus not only matter but a highlight moment of the song in a time where most artists did a 3rd chorus just for structure's sake bc it was the norm, a trend that I'm glad is slowly fading away. But if you do it, this is how it should be done, Linkin Park always justified the 3rd chorus in grand manner, you see this in so many of their songs.

I was working in Alaska 2 months ago: 16 hours daily, a sleep only 4 hours, 7 days, 3 months. And it’s incredible how this song gave me so much energy. Linkin park is the history of my adolescent, and now still with me in difficult times. Linkin park is that friendly place to support you and understand you.

They are still the Beatles of our time. The Beatles put Rock and Roll on a map in such a suggestive way. Linkin Park redefined what it could be in a more modern way. RIP Chester.

Ay yo, 92 gang lol. Completely agree with everything you just said, from the numetal, baggy pants with chains and band T-shirts that encapsulated that era to a thousand suns and all the way to one more light, I feel this band grew at exactly the same time as me. Do you feel that too ?

@Adam_StefaniakSaltea_Moonspell Жыл бұрын
Yes, and also fun fact: you can clearly as day see how well music was made back in the day. Everything from Meteora forward was really astray from the essence. Weather someone like it or not, those are the facts.
@NazoKG Жыл бұрын
@@Adam_StefaniakSaltea_Moonspell That's your opinion though, at the end of the day. Dunno what you really mean by "essence". It's actually a good thing when bands move on and experiment instead of rehashing the same sound and method time and time again. And that's exactly what LP did over the years.
@Adam_StefaniakSaltea_Moonspell Жыл бұрын
@@NazoKG development is good when a band is able to hold to it's roots. A lot of bands lost that during the evolution. At some point it was not evolution anymore but massive mainstream pop-like production. One album after another, all alike. The crossover that they had was gone - too soft. That is a fact one may like that music other don't, that my friend is subjective. You might grasp what I mean in time, or may not but that is really irrelevant. All that matters, is that you enjoy what you hear at the end of the day.
