You can tell a ripe avocado by checking the little stub on the top. If it comes off easily it’s ripe. Try it it works for me every time. Another is melons, if you knock them and they sound hollow they’re ripe 😊

Hi Linna, you make everything so fun for the boys! A new Japanese store opened near me called Mitzuwa…I walked in and they had the little shopping cart like the ones you have in Japan…I was so happy and thought about you…however, I did not fill up the cart like you😂. Very expensive..sashimi over $50+ a pd or $16 for a little slab. However I bought Unagi for $18 for a big piece…Anyway, Mitzuwa is the one and only Japanese store we have in Northridge, CA. We have travel to Tokyo Central in Gardena, Ca about 45 mins away. I love watching your videos!

Everything looked so delicious, the Setubun dishes as well! To pick an avocado don't squeeze the skin, it will bruise the avocado. The skin turns darker as it ripens, look for the darker skin. If you have a couple of days put the avocados in a paper bag and tightly close, they will get soft faster. Thank you for sharing your time with us!

Sorry I missed last weeks videos; I had a family emergency. I love such tofu shops. I had one near my house in Yanaka, but that one didn't have such a wide selection. My daughter did the setsubun throwing once, but I gave her a small broom afterwards so she could help clean up 🤣I usually make a teriyaki chicken ehomaki but this year I was not able to. Hopefully next year again. Your rice and ketchup pork oni were so cute! I tried an oni pattern on the egg once but that failed so much hahaha. I use aluminium foil around my gas stove; helps for easy cleaning.
