How I like to think this was created: Manager: We need a new mouse, How did the Sensei do Employee: (insert here whether or not it did great) Manager: Ok, WAIT! What is that?! Employee: What sir? Manager: That long, thin, black thing coming from the mouse? Employee: The wire? Manager: Get rid of it Employee: But... Manager: NOW! Also does this have acceleration?!
@Eyeball198
@Eyeball198 10 жыл бұрын
Laser sensors don't inherently have acceleration. It's just that all mice use the one of a handful of sensors and the laser sensor of the time had acceleration problems. The newer Avago sensors (which I assume should be in this mouse) don't.
@LinusTechTips
@LinusTechTips 10 жыл бұрын
There are very few truly perfect sensors. This isn't one of them. Note that unlike the Steelseries Rival product page that boasts about zero hardware acceleration, the Sensei Wireless page makes no such claims. With all of that said, most people won't notice it, and it took some playing around with different surfaces and DPI settings to observe it. I did make a point of mentioning that in the video.

I bought this mouse a few weeks ago, I don't know about all the acceleration business though, but so far I'm quite happy, sure it was quite expensive, but the ability to switch between wired and wireless is actually really nice, I hope you'll be able to buy the cable, you can just use a Micro USB cable, but would like the one that fits with the locking mechanism.

Many people buy their stuff on Amazon and then sell it on Ebay for more money so they get profit from it.
@JustKanji
@JustKanji 10 жыл бұрын
Because people that sell on Amazon are usually bigger retailers that buy in bulk and like so are able to get better prices. Ebay is more like individual sellers or E-retailers or small shops. Also I believe Ebay sellers leverage worldwide availability. You still can get a better price on Ebay for some products though.

This is completely off-topic (but not really), but Steel Series has put out a new Optical Sensor mouse called the Rival. I might be biased in saying this, but it's sincerely one of the best mice I've used in a while. Be it that it's wired, and not high-end (~$50), there could be something that's better, but you've got to give it to them that they HAVE tried optical sensors. And in my opinion, they've done it pretty well.

I upgraded from a laser mouse to an optical mouse and never looked back. The consistency is almost perfect in the aim and muscle memory. Although I didn't notice how much my previous mouse was affecting my aim I noticed an almost immediate improvement in my tracking and muscle memory once I upgraded to an optical sensor. Don't spend more than $35 on a laser mouse, for the love of god.

I have had this mouse for about 2 weeks and i must say i love it. I had the Razer death adder(optical) it was great too but the cord was bothering me(spilled a few drinks and it also kept getting stuck at the most critical moments) so I decided to upgrade for wireless. The big difference between optical and laser sersors is acceleration, or atleast thats what i've heard. I haven't noticed any acceleration when i turned it off so i cant really understand why it would be an issue or why steelseries should have used an optical sensor. The only con about this mouse that i can think of is the rear right side button. i just cant use it. Probably because its supposed to work for both left and right handed people. I mostly play FPS games(CS, CS GO) and Arma 2/3. If you want a great wireless mouse and the price isn't a problem then i can truly recommend sensei wireless. This coming from an ex optical gaming mouse user.

there's an easy way round the battery issue here... if you are a tournament gamer, having 2 of these mice may be a less painful way to swap them since the base station actually gives us a great way to swap and charge the other... plus I'm pretty sure the other mouse would charge in under 16 hours!

I'm currently using a Sensei (wired) at a dpi of 1000 for web browsing and general use, and 800 for fps games. I'm really not very knowledgeable on mouse technology, but it seems to me that a dpi of anything over 2000 would make the mouse very hard to use. On my 1920x1200 screen, I can move my cursor from one corner to the opposite diagonal cornerwith just turning my wrist.

I recently switched to a Steelseries Sensei from my MS Explorer 3.0 which had the dbl clicking problem. For the comfort it's almost the same as my old MS but of course my MS was made for a right hand only and the Sensei isn't. I do like on the Tournament Grade one that they've increased the inner thumb button as I find on mine to be a bit too small for me. I did not like the LCD screen which is at the bottom of the mouse which forced me to plug this in thru a USB on my mobo and not on my G15 which I did with my MS mouse. And since day one I've had issues with the Steelseries Engine which has crashed on me and lost connection with the mouse several times. When it does lose connection it will usually find it within 5 to 10 seconds but it's just annoying. I've tried it on other USB ports and it's the same problem, however I've used other devices on those ports and not once had I ever lost connection before. Namely my older MS mouse and a Ext. HD. Also the middle mouse button has started to squeak sometimes when I roll it.

I actually like the hard reflective plastic of the Sensei more than slippery plastic the Xai, Kana, and Kinzu, all 4 of them I own. I think the Sensei wireless version went a step backward with this. Also the fact that it doesn't have that little customizable text window on the bottom of the mouse anymore sucks as well.

I know that there are many mice with Avago 3310 for examlpe Steelseries Rival, Mionix Avior 7000, Zowie FK or FinalMouse 2015 but I want the better sensei with an optical sensor ! :c

I love pc gaming, its what i have always preferred, but i have to be honest, its a freaking mouse. 150 dollars for a mouse is crazy and even though its wireless, there comes a point when the difference in performance is basically negligible and the price can not be justified. 50-70 dollars will get you a fantastic mouse that I am fairly confident if you used it over one of these crazy expensive mice, would never cause you to loose a game.

I had to physically alter the mouse to be able to get all four side buttons to work more conveniently: otherwise for me, it wasn`t a gaming mouse. And the software is a pain to figure out as SteelSeries do not seem to know how to do a video on configuring their latest software to show you how to custom map. The new software does not have pre-sets either. Apparently the older software did.... but.... anyway.... Now I physically Modded it, its usable to be nowhere near as functional as the Logitech G300. But... I love being wireless again. The G300 was my first wired mouse in ten years..

I had the wired steelseries sensei and what i don't like about these mouses is that its too low for my palm. I have pretty decent size hands and long fingers. Meaning i couldn't use the sensei so i went with a Logitech and let me tell your way better i have a g400s if you wondering :D
