In a suburb on the outskirts of Nairobi a family is processing the news that their pet was taken by a lioness during the night. CCTV footage reveals the animal jumping up across the house gate, later leaving the same way while clutching a Rottweiler in her mouth. The BBC caught up with the pet's owners who are still shocked that their beloved animal was snatched away.

There's this expression from Kenya's Abagusii community, which if I remember correctly, goes, "When a dog tastes the blood of a chicken, that dog needs to be killed, otherwise no chicken in the vicinity will survive after that." That saying should also apply to the lioness above, because all the lives of dogs in that area, are now in danger.

Parnell the Lion killed multiple Grizzly Bears. Tigers have been known to do the same. The African lion stands its grounds against 15-20 hyenas who are more powerful than any dog. Lions and tigers are insanely strong and massive. I saw an African lioness up close once and its head was the size of a small dog. Its paws were as big as my head and that was a female one. Imagine how big the male tigers and lions are.

African Lions can single handedly fight whole hyena clans you have to be stupid to think there's any dog more vicious than a hyena. Lions and tigers are way too big and powerful for any dog in the world. Look up Parnell the African Lion who killed multiple fully grown Grizzly Bears and I know tigers who've done the same. These animals take down bulls and wild buffalos lol. A dog is just a snack for them. One bite and it's all over.

Okawango Delta Lions, Bengal Tigers from Kaziranga and Ngorongo Crater Lions are the biggest felines existing in the wild with an average weight of 240-250 kgs. Tigers and lions are anatomically so alike that an average tiger or an average lion if skinned, it would take an expert to tell them apart.

No, not this. This is case of human encroachment of wild life territory, period. Just like Multimedia University get harassed by animals it's because you invaded their habitat.

@thetruth9116 People from this part of the world are more sensible in that they don't have that excessive sentimentality where dogs are treated like humans and allowed to go into grocery stores and restaurants. Besides, one less dog. Big deal. Thankfully it wasn't a human, especially a kid. And the lion gets an easy meal and lives for another day.
