I have been watching these lion documentaries all day. It's so addicting. I even teared up on some of the sad ones. Lion life is harsh, especially for cubs and males!

crazy i been watching the othawa pride for almost 12 years now... sad about othawa male, and sad about hairy belly and ginger but im glad the othawa pride is still going strong, i hope the tsalala female and her daughter are doing well too

My bad. I forgot to mention them. Yes indeed they are doing great. Apparently Tsalala female was seen mating with one of the Tumbela males and her daughter was also playing around one of the males.

@@ScarYT good to know and thanks for the reply, i did read some news that she returned back to where the old Tsalala linoness rebuilt the pride, and its great to see her following in their old footsteps, but that was months ago, hopefully the males stick around and help her, and to be honest i love all the prides that are carrying on the mapogo-majing bloodlines like the othawa, mhageni, kambula prides

I’m glad the Birmingham sired Nkuhuma and Styx males are still doing well. I wish they would team up with their other half brother Torchwood. They’re still pretty young and aren’t ready for the likes of the Manghenis, especially since they still have cubs. I’m disappointed there was no update on the Tsalala/Marthly pride.

How are the Nkahuma pride doing? I watched for 6 months almost two years ago when they had their 8-9 cubs and watched them grow. Just wondering how Purple Eye, Ridge nose and Amber Eye and their cubs are doing.

Ndzhengas have the numbers on their side and although Gore has that vulnerability due his special condition, all are in good shape. Kambula sub-adults are promising, 5 or 6 of them depending on whether the youngest one will stick to his brothers when they leave for good, hardened by living a large pride, competing for food on kills in lion rough manner - but is yet to be seen whether they will make waves one day and whether that will be in Sabi Sands or elsewhere. As for prides, that is gonna be everchanging as once it gets too big, there is struggle to feed all and the pride usually splinters into more groups, often the new generation just form a breakaway pride. It is between Talamatis, Nkuhumas and Kambulas, but they are rarely all together, as individual lionesses will be separating themselves for mating (especially often in case of infertile females), denning with next litter of cubs or to feed themselves/cubs, especially if the pride has more sub-adults males that would dominate kills otherwise. Strictly adult lionesses speaking, Mhangenis have decent number as well, but no possible backup from adult males or any maturing sub-adults. There is always the Torchwood pride, but likely very fragmented and mostly outside Sabi Sands in Kruger proper. It is not like prides are pushing into each others teritory and there is conflict though, just the lone females (Ximhungwe, Tsalala, Southern/Selati "prides") needs to avoid the bigger prides

Matimba have only left 3 sub-adults (2 males 1 female) from Othawa pride who are now nomad with Othawa Junior, last seen Singita. As for Nguvu it seems that only 2 daughters are left for now. (Of course i just include sub-adults for Matimba, they have many others sons)

@@darrenbc6751 their best chance is the Avoca Pride which do not have any dominant males at the moment after Mapoza left them earlier this year. They however have some competition,,,two Black Dam Young Males (whom recently likely fought with YBM and left him limping) are being quite assertive there seen chasing off Skorro YM this week. There’s a lot going on in that area..overall here’s a summary: to the west of them is the Avoca pride. North West of them is the Giraffe pride. South West is the Birmingham breakaway pride South is the Birmingham pride. East is the Mayambula pride. Also in the area are the two Ross Males, The two Black Dam Males, the young Scorro Male, Sub adult male from Avoca pride, Young Giraffe male, 7 sub adult males from the Birmingham breakaway pride, 3 sub adult males from the Birmingham pride, Hercules and Sumatra Male.
