Hi, Zambian here. Wouldn't be incredibly accurate to say "tribe people" in reference to the individuals you see in the vid. A spotted a few ZAWA officers (effectively game rangers, they have a very distinct uniform) and I'm assuming the rest of the people you saw were employees of the game lodge that the hunter was working with. The little song they are singing is actually to the tune and partial lyrics of a famous football chant. "Chipolopolo" means bullet. They are basically singing, praising Mark and his bullet. Awesome token for his great shooting!

I firmly believe that if the animal has a financial value for the community, they will be better off long term. Allowing hunting for animals like lions (and I mean wild lions in Africa) does that. If the lion has a value, it will be maintained and looked after. Like so many species around the world, the threat is not a controlled hunting approach. It is habitat changes and encroachment by humans.

It’s more helpful to just kill it. The ones usually hunted are infertile, old, or diseased. They mess up the lion’s breeding, the money the hunters spend to kill them and the meat they collect are donated to local tribes so they don’t starve.
