I tried this recipe it came out really good. Instead of palm sugar I used normal jaggery and didn't add colouring.

In Malaysia, we got the exact same dessert as this. It's called Onde-Onde. But it just come in only green colour from pandan leaf. N the filling is crushed sugar palm that will melt when I boil the dessert. When I eat it, it'll pop n melt in the mouth

Literally alike with Malaysian traditional dessert too it is called buah melaka/onde-onde but for the filling we only put palm sugar instead of cooked palm sugar with coconut very fun to eat as you have to eat whole of it or not the melted palm sugar gonna spurt out and ruin your clothes 😂 my favourite tho

We also make this in India, same way but the rice flour is made in different dessert. We make modak for our Ganesh festival with plain rice flour dough over the coconut laddoo.

If you roast the grated coconut instead of microwaving, does it make much difference?
