Hi train friends! Today I wanted to share this awesome little Lionel legacy PRR 0-6-0 switcher. Watch as this awesome sounding steamer pushes and pulls as it does yard duties moving some ore cars and slag car by the furnace. Thanks as always for watching, commenting, liking and subscribing!

Thank you very much Al!! This little guy is a great locomotive. It's not that it's better than my mth version, but I'm just more of a Lionel guy and I lean toward legacy engines more. I think I'm going to sick to that for the future and do less mth. Just my personal preference. Nothing wrong with mth.

AWESOME video and engine Nick!!!!!!!!!!! Love the whistle on that bad boy, it sounds a lot like the vision line CC2, sweet smoke unit too, that tall thin stack really shoots the smoke up there! Also love the yellow hand rails on the tender, they look terrific and that is why I also ordered #5244 yesterday, after seeing a few of these on youtube I could not help myself LOL Anyways, thanks for the video bud, have a great one, and keep those trains rolling!

Thanks for the awesome compliment billy Y! You're gonna love the little b6 switcher. It's a fun way to pull or push cars around the layout. And it is a great smoker indeed. And the whistle does sound like the cc2 except the b6 has a more raspy sound, especially between the 2nd and 3rd level of the whistle. Has a cool echo too

Gorgeous steam locomotive. I'm getting the MTH A-5 0-4-0 Switcher for my railroad. It's hard to have a freight service on your railroad without a switcher engine.

Hey Nick! Great video. Love that whistle. Quick question for you though. Is there a wire going from the engine to the tender or is that some sort of deck plate? I really can't tell. I was thinking about getting the PRSL version, but I'm really not a fan of wires between the engine and tender.
@PghTrainFanatic
@PghTrainFanatic 9 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt! Thank you for the nice comment. Yes this engine has a wired tender. Lionel advertised it in the catalog as a tethered tender connections which improves electrical contact and helps with slow speeds. I can tell you I have some smaller mth engine that have wireless tether and they have issues on some bends and even going over 072 switches. I think Lionel did the right thing here. It runs like a champ. No issues.
@coopertroopa44
@coopertroopa44 9 жыл бұрын
+PghTrainFanatic Yeah as you replied I just saw someone asked you the same question. My bad. lol! Either way, not a deal breaker. I was just curious because on the website it shows it as a wireless tether and yet in the description it says "tethered drawbar connect.." www.lionel.com/products/pennsylvainia-legacy-scale-b6sb-0-6-0-steam-locomotive-5244-6-82307 Gotta love when Lionel contradicts itself. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

Great engine. I notice it doesn't have a wireless tether. I wonder why.
@PghTrainFanatic
@PghTrainFanatic 9 жыл бұрын
Thanks Richard! Actually Lionel published in the catalog that these little switchers would have a tethered drawbar for improved connection and electrical pickup and for low speed running.
@RichardJR1361
@RichardJR1361 9 жыл бұрын
That does make sense cause when ever my Lionel PRR a5 0-4-0 94 with wireless draw bar would go over my 0-36 fast track manual switch it would bounce and skip a chuff. It was a good idea at first cause it looked more realistic so I guess Lionel is playing it smart by going back to the original idea.
@PghTrainFanatic
@PghTrainFanatic 9 жыл бұрын
+Richard Lindao (Richard's Trains) yeah I have a couple smaller MTH engines with that same wireless tether and it drives me nuts going around bends and over some of my 036 switches. Also the MTH wireless tether sucks to begin with, but Lionel's is better with the infrared sensors.
@RichardJR1361
@RichardJR1361 9 жыл бұрын
PghTrainFanatic Yeah. The wireless tether in the smaller engines from both companies can use some improvements. They'll both get it right eventually.
@6709ify

By the way, how strong are these little steamers? I'm asking because I don't want for these engines to be weak just because they're small since I'm getting a little 0-4-0 MTH A-5. I hope that they can pull at least 25-30 freight cars. Anything less would be a little on the weak side.
