Messi is really strong and durable. Almost never gets injured. His work rate has decresed now that he's 36. But his vision and creativity more than makes up for it. He's just so insanely skilled, losing pace hasn't affected him as much as other players

he´s 4 inches shorter than the average defender. Defenders are traditionaly tall (compared to midfielders or attackers like Messi). Some attackers also are tall, and they then do headers into the goal. of course, he messes a lot with defenders, who are tall, and there, one notices that he´s smaller, and he´s surely a bit below the average. Chances are often missed, cause after Messi´s run and assist, his teammates are often hypnotized, and screw the final shot...

It’s not like basketball you can get fouled but if you maintain possession of the ball you can keep playing. If it was a nasty foul on you and your team is attacking, after the play is over ref can give a yellow to the player that committed the foul

Here's a video of him sort of playing basketball. 😁 He guest appeared on a Chinese tv show, where they had him use his foot to tap a soccer ball into a basketball net from 5, 10 and 15m away, which I think is supposed to correspond to the different line markers on a real basketball court. It's a fun short video to watch, even though I don't understand what they're saying.
