TIMESTAMPS
00:07 Yeah doesn’t feel great I think a big learning game
01:40 Yeah well I hoped not having a defeat and not having those messages
02:44 Yeh well of course we want to create that, and we still have depth in the team
03:42 I think they have some ingredients that are really good
04:41 Well, you know lacking energy that doesn’t give any information about how we play
05:48 No, we had to score goals and then we needed also power
06:43 I think she’s a very talented good centre back and I wanted to see that
07:51 Yeah I’m not worried I don’t worry very quickly
08:40 Yeah I well I think of course that’s too early to talk about
09:28 I haven’t been focused on that at all we just want to win every next game
10:08 Yeah I’m not that concerned about Millie the expectation is still that she will come back and play Yeah I think we have seen that before already after the other games
END 10:36

Tbh with you this is what we needed. It felt like us officially closing the Euros book and moving on to the World Cup. No modern team should be walking into any World Cup with a long unbeaten history. We needed a reset, to feel humble, hungry and fearless again. That when we play best. It’s been too easy and easy doesn’t win a World Cup. We need to feel ruthless again. It has also taken some of that pressure of us now because we don’t feel like it’s ours to lose now. I think we’re ready to do this now. Weirdly that was my biggest concern about this group of players. How would we cope from transitioning our Euros win to a World Cup win. Because this is our first major win ever for the woman and since the 60’s ever. And we got idle because we got carried away. Now we’ve got our spunk back. Got some attitude again. Especially for Australia a team we will most likely going to play. We’re in the best position now. Also let’s not forget Germany lost 2-1 another World Cup and Euros finalist so where all in the same boat 😂

@@jokemary49 why consoling? Australia were much better than England in this game. We lost to a ' better ' team. I'm disappointed that England didnt play better , but i'll respect the Aussies for playing well. The consolation is not for the loss, but the relief that it was in a friendly.

Without Bright, Williamson was having to do a lot of firefighting last night, as Steph Houghton had to do in the past. Without Greenwood, we lacked her defending, passing and energy. Carter was a poor replacement, attempting a job that is not her normal role. Without Mead, we lack a certain dynamism and goal threat. Without Hemp we lose the main contributor of the passes that set up goal opportunities. Without Walsh at her best, we lose the defence-opening passes. And it must be remembered, we have played all of the top teams in the past 12-months and this was our first defeat. Last night, Brasil beat Germany and were two-goals in front until the final moments. Oh, no matter where she plays, a place in the starting eleven must be found for Rachel Daly. She is too good to be on the bench and that is no criticism of Russo.

We’ll be fine it’s one game. Out of 31 where we’ve beaten or drew with 30 of the opponets in front of us. The same thing happened with Argentina when they played Saudi Arabia. And the 2014 men’s English rugby team before they went on to win the World Cup. You simply cannot compare friendly games to tournament football it’s a different kettle of fish with different standards. Also our oppositions have been good and we are missing a lot of our starters right now as well. This is exactly what we needed really a good old humbling in a result free environment. Better that than at a World Cup

I'm very glad that we lose probably that the kick in the backside we need most and we were very poor last night and our best player was alessia russo and I'm not going to criticise the manager and the team after they gave us 2 years of fantastic memories winning 4 trophies and staying unbeaten for 30 matches, sooner than later the unbeaten run will come to an end I'm relieved its was a friendly not a knockout tournament football, but we are still the team to beat in the world Cup this summer and we will deliver because I'm extremely confident on this team than the mens team under wastegate, and hopefully the likes of mille bright,Alex greenwood, fran kirby and Lauren hemp and I think sarina should play 4-3-3 as her system and 4-4-2 as the second option if think doesn't go well and I have Lauren hemp as the CF with her pace quicker than russo and daly in that position and have James on the left and Kelly on the right and expect both of them to attack the wing backs if 1vs 1 than going backwards and especially Lauren James she needs to lose at least a stone to quicker with her unbelievable talent ability, but we miss a gazza sort player that can unlock a defence with dribbling skills and one person in mind in that category is jess Park of everton her close control and dribbling skills is pure to see but she needs serious game back and also need a striker like Sam kerr pacey at both flanks and an deadly eye for a goal and Lauren hemp comes in that category as I said before I can't see anyone topping them including the mighty Americans whom we might meet in the final GO LIONESS and sarina we trust 💯👏✊️👌👍

You know, I did not see the game but I have watched a lot of Australia's matches and I think it is fair to say that if the Aussie girls had the slightest idea on how to use Sam Kerr she might have had a couple more goals. It is significant I think that Kerr put in the cross that resulted in the second goal because the Aussie girls just don't seem to be able to square cross the ball into the box.

I looked at it several times , played it at 0.25 speed , and had a friend look at it, while we played it over and over. Very close. I thought initially offside , but after several replays , decided not. And , it was after Willamson headed it, that Kerr flicked it on. Cant be offside from a backpass.

England's offense lost patience, never reset; kept throwing passes into the Box for headers. England never realized the formation Australia was in, and never did anything about it. Neither was halftime adjustments implemented, or coaching on the field. What was the 4 back defense line starters in this game. I saw no Mille Bright, Alex Greenwood, & Lucy Bronze. Lucy seemed up front in the wrong position. Ellie Roebuck should have started, my God Mary Earps needed a rest. Where do you go from here? Sarina, again bring #21 Mille Turner Manchester Lady Reds into your back defensive line. Mille Turner & Leah Williamson go vertical, England will be tough to beat! Julian Nagelsmann from Bayern Munich is available right now, Tottenham is Hot on hire him. England Women should pursue Nagelsmann and see if he would be interested.

We have faced “High Quality Teams” before, plenty of them and have come out on top. This team staff & players have a fantastic record and its a record that shouldn’t be snubbed. The Aussies got us at a time when we have 5 players injured and 2 recently retired. They rested every good player they have and submitted a loss to Scotland to try and prove a point against England. Not sure how long a team can carry that. We’ve learned and we will grow stronger from it for sure!

when ellen white retired.....and beth mead got injured....the england team doesnt have that spark. Russo needs a dozen chances to score, chloe kelly i believe should be on the left wing, Daly being used as a striker shows they lack that quality striker, you need that striker like Kerr for Australia that can get you goals, not players that cannot hit the target or constantly giving the ball away. Australia has just given the blueprint to all the other great teams on how to beat england and thats pressure them

they had a little streak going. 30 games undefeated isnt ' little ' . I can find the Usa having a longer streak ( although most of those were against low ranking teams ) . I cant find any other womens international team with a longer streak in the last 4-5 years at least. If you know of one ... ? Dont think of it as a little streak , think of ' who ' England beat in that streak. Excluding 8 games at the start of it , against low ranking teams in the WWCQG , 21 of the 22 other games were against top 20 sides. The other was the czech rep ( 28th ) who had also held the Usa to a 0-0 draw earlier.
